Who likes the early ones? I must say i am not a big fan, but they look well on some cars. I much prefer the later type with the red model badge(16v, G60 early VR6) Not really a fan of badgeless or the reiger one? just friday ramblings i suppose

@H8RRA, well i might just take the camera out tonight, i just never thought of taking a pic of a garage, lol
-
thats not a nice way to talk about chris  Technically i dont have a garage, just an oversized shed with 'bits' in, so my contributions will be mostly sarcastic. i like it! in my garage, much like chris's (a big shed) i have a few bits and pieces, the latest of which are some group N VW motorsport cams and a wiechers cage. now i just gotta get stuck into the G60 and finish it off

Fastest (Soon to be in)Production Car in the World

didnt they spend ages trying to get it to crack 1000bhp? and thats why it took so long -
I would say that your cam was just 180 deg out the first time. you have checked the Lamda loom, but how old is the lamda? one of my friends had a simular problem in his mk1 g60, it was traced down to a knackered lamda, the car would have no power and drink juice, do you have an air fuel guage? no matter how inaccurate they are it does give you an idea of whats going on. What sort of condition are the plugs in? Do they smell of fuel, or are they burnt or do they look fine? With G60's it is poss that at this stage the fuel pump could be packing it, it happened to a mate of mine there last year and that was sort of simular to what is happening. Have you tried it in limp mode, with the blue temp connector disconnected i think, see if that makes a difference?

Alex, aposgil? I dont think its his car, but the wheels are very simular alright

cheers, thats what i rekoned, just wanted a second opinion

I was working on a mates corrado over theweekend, he could not engage gears, i first of all thought it was adjustment in the cables, then when that was not the problem i checked to see were the cables tied up in eachother, not that. so them i looked at the selector it was increadable tight to press down with little or no spring in it. i took it out of the gearbox and looked at it, the movement in the shaft was very notchy with no spring in the movement and almost a grinding so i stripped it down, i took the selector apart and examined the shaft, it was covered in little particles of grit and the shaft was badly pitted and scored. The baring in the selector was also failing, even with oil in it there was still a grinding. I also think the main shaft may be slightly bent. Has anyone ever seen a failure like this? are the selectors available new or is there a rebuild kit? Or should i go and grab one from a scrap yard? Thanks

Ok well i think i can help here as sitting in the garage is a G60 and sitting in the work car park in a 2L 16v  The 16v has a serious lack of low grunt, but not as much as the last 1.8 16v. i find the 2L 100 times better it has more power and if you change for kr cams you will get more pickup, go for schrick and it will pull like a train from 2k. I cant fault it, i have had this car since feb, i have done 8000 miles in it and a track day with only minor issues that you would get from any car. As for the G60, well thats a different kind of power, it pulls from nothing and sounds like a deamon  i find the 16v is a quieter car and a more motorway and just get in and drive it car. I love the G60, its a make everybody look and quick car, it ghet very loud at high speed and you must look aftyer the charger, make sure the oil is right, changed at the correct time and make sure it heats properly before you gun it! What i would do if i were you is keep the G60 as you will be depressed with the results from the 16v. it just depends on what you want to use it for
