can anybody tell me if there is any majer differance between an 02A and a 02J,its just that im having clutch problems majerly  .ive just changed the MK4 dual mass flywheel and clutch setup for the standard G60 setup, everything is brand new flywheel, clutch, slave and master cylinders.the problem is the cluth slips like hell so i put it down to a dodgy clutch,i have now replaced the new clutch for another new one but i noticed when i was bolting the gearbox back on to the engine i had to pull it up tight with the bolts not alot about 4mm.ipoped the slave cylinder out and the clutch release arm is solid ie no play back and forth,so i wondered if this is correct or is this my problem that it is actualy putting presure on the presure plat and stoping the clutch from engaging properly :? and causing it to slip :? any help is much appreciated as this is starting to realy p*ss me off   ive been told by various specialists that the G60 set up should work

got the magnex on now just alltered the last rear silencer hanger,im impressed with how quite it is 8)
-
right just built everything back up.degreased all the necessary parts, friction disc in the correct way ,new master/slave cylinders :D .took it for a test run and bugger me its sliping like a penguin down a ski slope  .brought it back to garage put handbrake on and tryed to set off well it just dragged the c along so i went back out and it only seems to slip when you boot it at from the mid rev range  by the way the flywheel and clutch are g60 ones
-
its not for sale but one way or another it will fit
-
just aquired a magnex system but it is for the later type hangers does anybody have any sugession as to what it the best way to get round this. :? ps couldnt mis it as it was only £100 brand new :D
-
yes i know allready looked into that but i didnt have one to exchange and cant realy aford to send this one at the mo.just want to get the c back on the road
-
i know exactly how your feeling m8 :( ,your in the right place to get it sorted on here :D

cai too late mate all ready ordered it anyway the vr6 clutch is only a couple of £cheaper, but hey any clutch is better than non at the mo.its nice to here people like the engine install makes it all worth while. on another subject spoke to dubsport today about a second hand g60 flywheel they quoted me £100+vat for one  ,so i called local stealers and srewed them down to £125+vat for a brand spanking new one
-
the pedal retuns by its self now but still no drive ,anyway im fitting the g60 flywheel and clutch back on as soon as i get the bits from the stealers.reading on vw vortex last night and the 1.8T clutches sound like they are cr*p anyway, iread loads of comments about them failing befor the cars had reached 20k so i think it would be better to dump the dual mass heap of sh*t flywheel and clutch and just stick with good old solid one piece flywheel ,clutch.much cheaper too ill be taking the box of again tomorrow and lets hope henny not right about it being the input shaft  cheers for your help though guys
-
clutch has gone on my c,i took the clutch out and there were no obvius sines of wear, preasure plate seemed ok so i replaced the slave cylinder as this looked a bit worse for were.i know its not the master cylinder because i changed this not so long ago.anyway put it all back together and f**k me it doesnt work  .the problem started when i was driving home the other night i depressed the clutch and when i released it the pedal only came half way back up but not enough to drive,i lifted it with my foot and it was ok for the next 6-7 gear changes and then it did it again and again and again till eventually the f**cking thing stoped working all together   .so the end result it i can put the car in gear and there is no drive at all . any help would be mutch appreciated cheers :( :(

henny wrote Nah, that's about par for the course... It's a bummer when it happens, but don't let it get you down... I eventually bought the 8th 'rado I saw after travelling nearly 2000 miles in total! I did have some pretty specific ideas as to what it was I wanted though... yeh so did i the mane one being it had to be black  :?

dont worry m8 your not the only one

devnull i did the 20vt swap last year,it is a easy enough swap mechanicaly as the 20v motor drops sraight in on the same motor mounts.if you do the swap stick with the 20v gearbox and all your gear linkages are near enough the same, the driveshaft output flanges on the 20v gearbox are 108mm you need 100mm(if its an o2j box you need part number o2a 409 355d) as for the cluth just swap your slave cylinder over.the downpipe from the turbo will have to be reshaped as it does not fit,all i did was cut and welded it so that it did fit.as for engine management i used a haltech which is fully programable, its not bad to wire up you just need to be carefull and take your time but it is all worth the effort at the end :D :D ,look in the member gallery to see some pictures off the cars thet have been mentioned above :D

well i suppose what is the max presure it would go to.its just im looking for a gauge and ive been told to make sure it goes high enough :?
-
does anybody know what the oil presure on a 20vt (agu) runs at. cheers :?
-
so if you lighten the flywheel do this meam you have to rev the engine harder on the motorway at cruising speeds due to the flywheel not having the same rotating mass???
-
dont get me wrong i like them too just think they would suit a civic or crx a bit better than a c
-
looks abit too jap for me mate, but it s what you think that counts

the trim on the front&rear windows just pulls out&and pops back in quiet easy, the rear quarter windows, the seals are have to be cut out so no good for reuseing.as for masking them up 3m piant products do some special window masking tape, its an exellent product that has a hard plastic edge to it,you tuck it down behind the rubber then pull it back&stick it to the window this then allows piant to go behind the seals &gives a much better finish.

lets see if there this generous when it comes to my all red tail lights
-
you shouldnt have had to break a window to get in only takes a min with a coat hanger or something of that description.if you are relying on the intellistart to start the car when the battery is loosing voltage make sure your starter motor is in tip top condition.in my case it used to let the battery drain to much befor it would try to start it and it wouldnt start, quered it by putting a new starter motor on.
