Hello, just wondering if anyone has used powerflex top mounts before? and what you think of them also I'm running on AP coilys at the mo, so its quite a stiff ride, will this stiffing it up more? and is there any chance i could end up damaging the top plate where the top of the coily rests? or am i worrying too much? Cheers

Hello, I have recently got a problem where whilst holding my revs at say 2k-3k and not moving my foot on the peddle at all, they sometimes start to slowly drop off, if i then increase or decrease the revs car behaves as normal again. -Changed the spark plugs recently. -Suspected fuel pump? Cheers

Just loosen the engine mount and jack it up a little, don't go mad, just lift it enough. assuming its a vr6

So investigating a clunk I get, all I ever seem to have with the car! And when the car is up in the air and I grab the os driveshaft and turn it by hand there is a clunk and some play, it seems to be gearbox cup end, in the cv joint Should there be any play? And could this cause a loud clunk whilst driving? Cheers

Oil mist? But there's no oil in them, I thought it was fuel vapour? Basically I want to stop the fuel vapour getting to the hot exhaust manifold, if my thinking is correct?

whilst refitting my manifold i put the carbon canister to butterfly valve hose under the rocker cover breather pipe and it was rested on my manifold and has now melted, I'm highly worries as i believe that may carry fuel vapour?can i just remove the hose at the carbon canister? i seem to remember they aren't nessacery? Thanks

I seen 148º yesterday after a little blip on the way home from work, so yeh i also went into panic mode! No changes to normal running temps after parts change, but just doesn't seem to be able to handle me giving it some, when i say some i mean like upto 80 in third, on the autobahns on the way home from work of course

The Corrado reached really high oil temps the other day, I'm surprised its still running, what are possible causes of high oil temps? Things to consider; Recent oil temp sensor Recent oil and filter change Recent mocal cooler removal, back to exchanger Usually sits around 108º-116º (same temps before mocal removal) Hit high temps after a VERY short heavy foot session (about 15 seconds) Sometimes seems to behave and stay around 108º-116º but then sometimes will go higher, if i have a heavy foot , quite intermittent Do the pumps brake? Cheers

No Engine movement at all, and bottom bolt is still there! Do cv's make noise in a straight line? I always thought it was only when turning and majorly on lock? Any other ideas? i seem to be forever trying to find mysterious clunks!
-
Changed the front one about 2 weeks ago, and the back one didn't get changed but seemed fine
-
Hello, I seem to be getting a clunk when there is a load change on the engine, for example, when crawling along in traffic in say first and putting the clutch in i get a loud one, and also into reverse, not when selecting reverse but actually coming to use it and changing the direction of the car. Happenes wether I'm going in a straight line or turning. Seems to be something coming out of place, once the clunk has happened once, it can potentially happen all the way upto 4 gear. Not the gear change itself but the 'rocking' of the engine on the power change from the clutch engaging, disengaging Cheers

Studs are alright, the nuts a fag, real soft, make sure your on good and proper before turning them

I have one of these but also have a few pointers; make sure manifold to head plate is flat, i filed mine make sure manifold to head plate is spaced correctly, i welded a little 2mm plate in between the two sets of three check the joins for air tightness, i had to weld one up i also cut the end off my old pipe and welded it to the end, to avoid having the nasty joint at the end. so a fair bit of work went into mine before it worked well, but very pleased with the result!!

Is the rear engine mount (not the gearbox one) the same as the front one? Cheers
