Hello all This first VR swap ive done into a LHD G60 damm not like the 4 pot vw engines lol First off all didn’t have any dash lights or fuel pump but that’s been sorted now two wires I forgot to plug in But everything turning over perfect but im not getting any spark. Im picking up the OBD1 wire to plug into the car (im assuming I can still read error code via the G60 port?) But I have power at the ECU and power at the coil pack (think both blue wires) but anything else I can test? Also there are three wires between the negative and positive wires for the coil pack. Im assuming this three are triggers for each bank, so are they negative triggers or positive? also tried a def crank sensor and still no difference. anything anyone can tell me I would be happy especially if uve done a vr conversion thank you in advance

got to admit this is the best idea for a G60 ive ever seen pity i no longer have my 16vg60 these should sell like mad

i went for the autometer one http://www.online03.plus.com/aposegil/18.jpg i think the quality of their product are amazing :)
-
maybe but i was following his progress in selling it to see if having a 20v lump in ur car ups the value and i didnt see it "gone" if you know what i mean I might be wrong thou
-
yeah I still think he has his even i wasnt able to sell my corrado even at £3500 im not sure whats happening out there but some corrado go without a blink of a eye lid others just sit about for ages
-
sorry to hear about the rear window :( if ur still looking for a blue rear boot ive got one taking up space in my garage
-
mate ive know few people down here in london picking them up for about £1000 or less for even vortech ones and one guy even picked it up with complete custom charge cooler and pipes
-
well ive got a 20v AGU bottom end with AJQ head ported sitting in one of my garages its missing a few bits to run it on original ECU as i was planning to either go with Revo or Custom Code to remove the immoboliser and custom remap but the more i think about throwing more money at the corrado and time the more im put off decissions decissions

sorry mate my confusion i counted 12 must have been tiredness kicking in oh well worth asking thats all

Hello all Ive just found a VR flyhwheel sitting about doing nothing but I dont have any 16v 8v or 20v enigne sitting about i can put it up against to see but I know the vr is 12 bolts and the 4 pots are 6 but can u get away with using a VR flywheel on a 4 pot engine with just 6 bolts? thank you in advance alex

nice touch Jay ;) is Gary still working then? Also can vouch for Gary he did my corrado and im more than happy with the work :D -
thats true about the longer gears my mate got a uno turbo and he using cogs out a lancia to extend the time he is in each gear also stop the wheels spinning up s quickly so you can put more boost on earlier the engine should be about 300-350 so i guess ill go for the vr one then :D
-
well i have the 1.8 16v gearbox off my old setup which ive been told identical to the mkIII 16v as for what i want i guess best of both worlds I know when i used to have the 2.1 16v with and without supercharger i was happy with it but as i have thisw VR box sitting there aswell ive read in the past some people going for them i thought i would ask
-
Hello all especially u gearbox gods :D which one would be best on a 20v engine? i know the VR will hav different bell housing but that can be changed but ratio wise which one worth it? or is it best to open up both and use a combo of both gearboxes? thank you in advance
-
sorry guys but I know of three R32 including Guy on this forum thats gone to AMD had the schrick cams and come out with 300 bhp and been used as daily drivers it really does transform the car completely I was lucky enough to experience the before and after and got to say it was all grins around :D lol only reason decided to go for the 20v as its going to be very low cost to myself so cant really say no to it
-
what im talkign about is the wide track to normal track on corrados dont get me wrong still go in nicely ;) like RMN is doing but if you want it done properly i.e like factory you would have to change it all come down to the owner i would say R32 is the most reliable out of the two running 300bhp remember all you doing is cam's and mapping and that doesnt really kill a engine its like caming and rechip any motor 20v become unrelaible when people just dont look after them as they are going through extrem preassures so not letting it warm up or cool down and just general thrashing will kill any turbo engine quickly
-
u dont have to tell me about projects lol at the mo got a golf mkII, uno turbo, corrado 16vT and mine on corrado at the min to sort out before the summer also using standard ECU will get you as much bhp as using standalone now, the likes of Revo and Custom Code are now able to map it to very good levels but retaining the factory feel hence why im going for it :)
-
ok theres is two sides to this perosnaly i would put in a R32 lump with cams and be a reliable 300bhp all day long once the remap is done but looking into it there alot of stuff needs to be changed to VR spec to be done right even thou you can get away with it 20v's when running right turbo will make 250-300bhp no probs all that will make it unrealiable is that if you thrash hell out of it and not look after it People forget your putting alot of stress on things running big boost levels Also weight wise not really much in it whats 60kgs ? having ur girlfriend in the car or not? lol perosnaly ill be fitting a 20v soon and i know i hate these lumps with a passion but ive been give a deal i cant say no to so going for it and see the out come :)
-
thats a impressive car list in ur sig there perosnaly ill be fitting a 20v into corrado soon with original ECU and wiring whilst still keeping as much of the original corrado loom as possible as you no longer need Clocks and keys for them so should be able to give good write up soon like said fitting the engine is piss easy ive done engine swopes in half a day its the wiring thats the headache
-
ive got 16"x9" all the way round perosnal think these not bad way of having a dished & flat face wheel ;)
-
u could do or VW better than FORDS but i had alot worse in mind lol personaly i would have "u wish u could have a corrado" lol
-
i can see what u mean but is it worth the extra weight in the car when those min sec's count? like in F1 well ill stick what i original said very impressive tech and worth the money IMO if thats ur thing imagine what u could get away with have rolling text :D tell some to stick it when they cut u up or something lol
