  1. u and another 10 people i know lol honestly i prob just do it as Rolling shell with doors boot and wing suspension and brakes Engine gear box ecu intercooler etc Leathers and interior trim Wheels Exhaust system etc as ive just broken a vento and still got loads of parts about and more of a pain if u break it up into so many little pieces but then i really dont want to go down that road
  2. well actualy thats a lie its when u have engine start as it can detect engine revs
  3. wasnt urs program to shut on revs aswell? as thats concepts are
  4. because on his clifford it was set to lock the doors once revs reached 3000rpm
  5. damm, see this is why i always leave myself a something just incase got to say, i have been with Amit (rado16v on here) when he got his vr and we went somewhere and whilst showing the engine off to a mate, he accidently reved the car past 3000rpm, u can guess it two hours later car still running and 2nd set of keys collected form his house and droped off but then ive done alarm in another mate car, which has no locks etc but weve left a device u connect two 9A batteries and they will pop the doors open no matter what
  6. didnt know u could do that, what the feck is it that makes it lock up? also no need to be so smart mate only a idiot removes the rear boot lock when u dont have door locks like me due to the audi handles and two if i wasnt able to lock it now u recon it would be outside? lucky for me it sleeps with my dads merc in a heated garage so i cant complain
  7. well today was meant to be a good day get the car through MOT and slap on some road tax so yesterday prepped the car put standard rear lights back on (red one indicators where to red) put my battery back in and started the car run well no prob so woke up early this morning get ready to go and nothing car wont start etc and i notice Clifford light out (as I left it in valet mode) thinking bloody hell battery drained quick so tried jump starting it again nothing so ok lets go through all the fuses nothing they are all fine everything getting power as it should be well after a long day of testing etc and trouble shooting it comes down to the Clifford Brain decided to lock itself (they can do that when it feels the sudden change in current to stop thief’s walking off with ur pride) anyhow where hoping one last trick works which where going to do tomorrow if not leaves me with a situation now I was prepared to road tax and mot the car as I believe for the price im asking should be drivable but now with this if I need to get it sorted means more money im shedding out I cant take it off as they I cant lock the doors (they not key operated) and all honesty this car does need a alarm so what do I do throw in the towel and go with my original idea of breaking her or do I go the extra expense and fix the alarm issue what u guys think?
  8. dont know never looked under the passat oh well just worth asking as if it was something like tappets worth changing as the guy with the mkII wants to recon the turbo for a bit more fun lol
  9. do these things have solid or hydralic tappets?
  10. golf has 40K more and yep the golf gets more usauge out of it i would say knowing the two drivers but then its serviced alot more and maintained more than the passat
  11. nope both bonnets open lol even thou the passat does have under bonnet proofing lol makes it even quieter
  12. mate i understand some of it is due to that but when both identical units why is one louder than the other its like having two vr's and ones alot louder than the other
  13. hello guys why is it diesels are so loud? even if the same unit what makes it louder than the other one? reason i ask few pmates one has a mkIIGTD and the other passat TD both same lumps identical but the passat alot quieter than the mkII thanx in advance
  14. yep market at the mo is very dead and corrado's seem to be going very cheap even good ones which is a pity as they are going for the same price as a crappy one good luck with the sale thou
  15. i was just about to mention that fully working ferrari lol that i was impressed with
  16. oh and guys thanx for ur advise :)
  17. cool i think this weekend im going to help him rip the sump off and see the extent of the damage im guesisng the likes of gsf and vw also do the over sized bearings aswell?
  18. nope like a 16v drop the sump as u can se eit all form there just have to do one by one and move the crank round as u do it guys thank you for the advise is it just a simple knocking and rattling u get when they go ?
  19. can u polish it and ground it on the car? or is that a engine out job? changing the shells form underneath easy enought so that is a posibility
  20. Hello guys Ive got a amte thats got a mkIII which form the sound of it and advice from local mecahinc to him the big end bearings gone as its rattling a bit does this mean when the big ends go its a goner i.e dead engine or can new bearings be put in and get it runnign again?
  21. yeah but if thats your kind of attitude and can take ur own work why would u spend crap load of money on a kit that wont fit when you can build it for cheaper yourself???
  22. havent had a look at urs ;) as ill prob be down no rice to advertise the car this month ill look at ur rear end lol
  23. yeah magnex full system but IMO if ur paying so much for just rear doesnt hurt to get the rest Also its perfect sound quiet on idle but nice noise at full bore and tail pipe closest match to the original ive seen IMO
  24. man u lot love ur G's lol perosnally not my thing i like a raw engine sound i.e 16v or a great turbo sound (like my mates uno when it comes into boost sounds like a plane taking off lol) but each to there own :D
