  1. Ok.. lol It needed new rods and pistons, thats why its cheap but perfect for an R32T !!
  2. Had the chance to buy an R32 engine for £500 so I was thinking R32T but I want to stick with my engine as it has good potential! B
  3. Sweet! what size are those tyres on the OZ splits chap? And if you have a spare sunroof less roof let me know ;-)
  4. All welded up now and I hope to trial fit it tomorrow before it goes off for powder coating.. anyone know of a place that will do it cheap in the Guildford area? Pleased with the welding, cheers Nick! ;-)
  5. PhatVR6, Fair play.. I just took the easier option and got the dutchdub kit. Will trial fit it tomorrow night and let you know. Your plan is a good one but I don't think the drive shafts are that much out tbh.. :) CoxyLaad, go on.. hehehe I haven't even made my mind up yet! lol I put 1.9L in my sig on Vortex but I'm thinking about a stroker kit.. so 2.1 or even 2.2 ! ;-)
  6. what are you doing next then? New roof panel, without sunroof?
  7. according to who? looks too far back to me compared to where the syncro diff sits. According to me! It might look further back due to the angle from which the picture was taken.. The front of the diff is and has to sit in the same place as the syncro item (where it bolts to the prop) and seeing as the syncro and the haldex diffs are the same length, give or take a mm or 2 it can't be sitting too far back! When the rear mount is bolted to the rear it sits in the same position as the syncro setup did - I have measured to be sure. Mine sits in the same place as these ones that Marcel from Dutchdub has done and it clears the Rallye/Syncro fuel tank as you can see in one of the pictures... As Coxy says.. I'll find out soon enough, should be able to trial fit it on monday night before it goes off for powder coating.
  8. blue95, Yeah its a dutchdub kit - got to say it was very well made, fits very well! The ARB will fit as long as you move the casing for the haldex controller wiring. Easy fix. Thats a rallye item. If you have a larger VR6 syncro ARB then it won't fit. PhatVR6, No thats exactly where it should sit. I'm guessing it will miss the tank by about 5-10mm ! CoxyLaad, Yeah sounds about right!
  9. Sneaky pic ;-) So far so good! Should have the rear beam ready for powder coating @ the w/e!
  10. Awesome Scott.. I sent you that email today.. did you get it? Jay was dreaming of that headlight mod while we were in W'see last year.. Are they skoda lights? Ben
  11. Awesome awesome awesome!! My thinking exactly!
  12. At vast cost - maybe! Marcel (dutchdub) sells them i think (2nd hand), won't be cheap, but useful to know. I'm looking at custom adjustable wishbones at the moment.
  13. ok thanks chap .. yeah I should get back on the vwsyncro forum.. cheers.
  14. sure thing mate - you got my email - drop me a line when ever chap, happy to help.. Let me know when the write up is done - I've been meaning to get going with the site again! Been sooo busy :( **Bit more** Loving the arches, how much are you going to flare them by do you think?
  15. Love that - always wanted to paint mine in british racing green ..
  16. Looking good chap - keep the pics coming!
  17. Yep.. I'm going to weld the diff in place this weekend hopefully (if I managed to find a good welder in time), take the prop off and pinch the x2 100mm CV's I have from that and try and get it all to fit as it is. Was it just the VR6 syncros that had the 'plus' size wider trailing arms Paul? Mine are off a Passat G60. I think theres enough play in the current setup to make it work as it is! Went back outside and had a play and I think it might fit as it is! Will try and if not then I will source some VR6 syncro wishbones - take it I can press my 4-stud hubs into the VR6 syncro wishbones? cheers! yeah cool... was chatting to Marcel about it and he told me I would need VR6 syncro wishbones that are 10mm wider to make the difference. We'll see! My brake bias cost me about 60 quid I think ?! VW one is crap - not worth the hazzle. Mine is very easy to setup once you've worked out which way to turn it! lol Yep! Got to be done for track and sprint season! :) Agreed!
  18. Loving all these VR6 turbos! I want Iwant!!
  19. haha..   You could say its been attacked a little by the salt air, yeah! lol I got it from Dover so the car was based on the coast for sure! As long as it works I don't really mind. I'm not a chrome and polish person. Oh and I got it for £70 ;-) Bargin! LOL, classic. Ben you did say you got it from Dover..... Has there been another ship wreck with VW bits instead of BMW? :) Jay Yep it did indeed! And no there hasn't been another ship wreck.. Thanks man. After turning down a number of offers for the car as I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it, even for a house! So house purchase is on hold and I'm going for roound 2 with the C. (I can't not tinker!) Anyway you spotted right, I binned the factory brake bias valve. It was in naff condition and was sezed - so I rendered it useless. I now use an aftermarket adjustable brake bias valve to setup the rear braking bias. I've currently got it mounted to my seat in the car. Yeah that was then, I'll have a standard 02M S3/TT 6spd box shortly and I won't need to bother changing those ratios for tdi items.... Will be nice to have 6 gears in the corrado! Update - Anyway, I just wanted to trial fit the haldex diff this evening as potentially there are lots of ways to do the conversion (with regards to custom driveshafts or standard ones, wider track VR6 syncro wishbones or my rallye items, dutchdub camber plates or custom wishbones etc etc..) and I needed to visualise how it will sit. I think seeing as the haldex diff is 10mm wider each side I'm going to attemped to have the shafts ground down slightly on each end and or the inside of the CV's so I can gain enough mm's back to use the exsiting drive shafts. Apparently 6-7 mm will be enough as the play in the CV's will take care of the rest. That'll save me 400 quid (for custom driveshafts - unless people have got them cheaper?!) on the rear end if it works! Still not sure whether to sort the camber out on the rear once and for all.. something else to think about. A couple of pics from the trial fit. The CV's do fit into the haldex flanges, but its tight and they're not the correct CV's. I need to get some 100mm items. Rallye ones are 90mm. Also a pic of the rallye diff next to the haldex item - bit bigger huh!
