I've done my conversion myself, if you want info on what you need to do for the conversion have a search both on this site and the performace VW forum for past threads on the subject... there are loads. Engines prices vary from £700 through to £1500, I got mine for £750 all in, so bargins are about if you know where to look.. If you want power on a budget then the TT engine is a good place to start, with a chip you can obtain 270-290bhp. If you want mega grunt then as james mentioned the Jabbasport IHI kit is a killer of a package, 360bhp, 330 lb of torque with little turbo lag and I can vouch for that! I was so impressed that I had to put that set up on my 20vt corrado! When undertaking a 20vt conversion there are a few hidden costs like boost pipes, management that one needs to be aware off, but they are a wicked bit of engineering excellence. Hope this helps.... Ben

urhhhh.......... 4WD conversion, big turbo, stupid brakes, stupid exhaust, couple cows inside, different engine, change of colour, nice wheels... and a new halfords bee sting aerial made out of vauxhall pig metal... and its still not on the road.. shall we round the figure off? Answers on the back of a postcard... need donations to buy a steering wheel and a gear knob....

Eccentric bushes will do minimal to help remove the rear camber, the eccentric bushes however will help to remove the 'tow' on the rear wheels and I plan to get a set soon. The only way to get rid of the camber and have the corrado at a nice ride height is to modify the wishbones, i.e. cutting and re-welding. I will be doing this mod soon. -

In order to have nearly no camber at all on the rear this is wroughly what height is needed .... lol I'm looking at modifying the wishbones soon so I can have the car low and not have any camber. Anyway check the pic out... -

Oh yes! A rallye donor car was used for its floorpan, which was cut out then welded into my corrado. Time consuming.. -

I rekon by the time I finish the project it would have taken near 3 years. -
The Mk5 Golf has not been selling nearly aswell as the Mk4 did in its first year. The problem area is reported to be the interior, which people are not impressed with, I have to agree a little on the 'budget' side ... Still I like the racing prepped version with 18" BBS motorsport alloys on it, which was at this years motor show.

bingo. Don't worry, the painter will be getting all the praise he deserves. I was very lucky to catch him at the right time, my car was at his shop within a week of asking him to do it. He's now booked up till next year. Would that be Steve from Premier then, Mich @ MJ Interiors said you were trying to get him to respray your car ages ago, (over a year ago). Is this true?

Thanks for all the comments; unfortunately I'm going to have to raise the height a bit for everyday use. I have the added problem of the 1.8T sump lying very low and its ally so caution is going to be needed or maybe a SS sump guard would be the trick. Anyhow I'm pleased with the outcome, simple is best in my opinion and that’s how I vision’d the car and thus how I’ve built it, on the outside at least! The interior will be a bit more crazy but that’s going to stay under wraps for the time being while I learn how to re-trim.. Btw the rear could be dropped another 50mm easy if the wishbones permitted it, because Mk1 Golf rear coilovers had to be used, however because of the camber problem, (which can’t really be seen in the pictures) I need to raise the rear to sort that problem, ultimately the wishbones will require modifying to remove the camber. P.S. The colour is Porsche Iris Blue. cheers, ben -

Just took a few pics of the corrado before I finish her off, got the interior to fit and it needs mapping. Hoping to have it complete by the 24th July for the Castle Combe track day. I need to get the rear bumper re-painted as the car slipped back and scratched the paint on the way back from Inters, :( -
Salt water not good either! here comes the rust....
