Haway Man that right front tyre's balder than me  Only Jokin Michael Lol!
-
Which wiring specifically do you mean, there's a lot of it  I may be able to help as I have an original VAG manual

So how old do you have to be to look a 'little silly'....

Lol! Nice One :D -
Think that's Brodie Brittain Motorsport who I believe were based at Silverstone in the 70's & 80's and specialised in VW tuning (Showing my age now Jim Lol)
-
Yes Jim, pretty rare and a real street sleeper. Will be worth serious wedge in the future because as you say a real piece of unique VW history.

LOL Now that is not what I was saying at all, I 'think' I started this thread because it was all about other peoples perceptions of you driving the C. Same way I perceived an older gentleman the other day of indeterminate age as being perhaps a 'little sad' Only because he happens to still own the original Mk2 golf gti that he bought 22 years ago, keeps the mileage down to 3k a year, polishes it every weekend oh and has a pony tail! Now you could say that is 'cool' but I think deep down we all know that it is not and I was a little worried I would slowly start the metamorphosis into him! Not saying i should get a boring car, just something a little more modern. Would a 3.0 Z4 with aftermarket induction, exhaust and CSL alloys be pipe and slippers, hmmmm I'm just not sure. Not sure about much today, perhaps I am having a midlife crisis, better cancel that hair cut... Agree with John, and I'm past the half century. I don't honestly care about what people think as I regard myself as an enthusiast and maybe you should be thinking along the same lines old boy Lol! As for TDi's - fantastic, my daily is a Golf Gt 170 and I can see where you're coming from with the Polo but the Corrado is still a very special car to drive and always will be :) -
Cazza, if you're gong to E38 Sunday let me know and I'll bring the correct tools along, Bill

Grea colour, and great wheel choice Si, but like Rob I'm slightly biased :)

Check this out Michael http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-MK1-Golf-GTI-N ... dZViewItem

Well Michael, interesting that your a big Mk1 & 2 Golf fan, so was I (and still am to an extent) until I drove a Corrado, and it was the only car that I would have sold my mint Golf 16v for and haven't regretted it since. On the other hand there's no way I'd now part with the Corrado to buy a Golf. Your choice though

Sometimes the sheathing on the wires inside the seat breaks down and causes a short so I would also check those. It does mean partially stripping the seats down but that is pretty easy.

Hi Jim, I only run standard size MB Quart components up front with an Alpine sub with a separate amp for each and I'm well pleased with the sound quality. As was mentioned the rears are only "fill in" and I don't believe you need them if you have a decent sound stage at the front. Another thing is having sufficient power to drive the speakers properly. If I run my MB's off the head unit it just doesn't drive them sufficiently and there is a huge improvement when they run off the amp. HTH and hasn't confused you further :)

Bump stops could be shot - quite common.
-
Looks more like a MK6 golf I reckon
-
Well done Michael, Good to see you being rewarded for all your hard work. :)
-
have you really.... Yes

Got a mint set of 16" Rx's spare that I might be willing to sell. I know they're not 5 spokes but they are certainly OEM+
-
It's also important to support the hub at the front with an additional jack or something when you undo all the bolts. As has been said rears are the easy but you will need additional tools for the front. It may pay you to go to a garage or tyre fitting centre and get them to undo the nuts on top of the front strut with their air wrench and them nip them up again and drive home slowly - that's what I did the first time I carried out this job, then when you finish the job go back tighten them up as much as you can and get them to air wrench them up again otherwise you will need a slotted socket and a long handled allen key. HTH, Bill

I'd check the wiring inside the seat first as that caused mine not to work as there was a break.

Great pics Gav - car looks stunning Ed 8)

It's an Alpine 10" Bass ZR and I have 2 Alpine V12 amps mounted on the back of the panel to the left of the sub.

Nice one Ben, Glad to see you're taking the same care as Gareth, beautiful car. Oh and the RS's are not as bad as I thought to clean. 8)
