  1. Do you mean the heating or adjustment?
  2. You lucky devil Jim :) Glad you've given it a good report, thinking about getting one but will wait until the oil burner is released next year. There's strong rumours of a 200bhp diesel MK6 Golf and I'm hoping that'll also go in the Scirroco as that would be awesome, otherwise It'd probably be the 170 as in my current MK5. Would love the 2.0 petrol but that would be heart over head as it would be mainly for business use and wouldn't really make sense. Great colour too, think that would be my choice. Looking forward to reading your full report. Bill
  3. Can any of you guys that have fitted them tell me which car they were sourced from? Thanks, Bill
  4. If your VR has a wayward front end there is a good chance that there is something wrong with the suspension setup/ components . Firstly you have 17's fitted and I suspect you've lowered it - this will degrade the handling abilities of the car particularly on poor road surfaces and the car will actually cope with this better with 15's and standard suspension components in good order. Believe me I know as I've had 15's, 16's and I'm currently running 17's with a substantial suspension drop and really that is purely for cosmetic reasons - there's an old adage which for Corrados as far as I'm concerned IMHO holds true and that is 17's for show and 16's for go :)
  5. Don't think so, unless VW financially support the event, that is. The reactions at the launch events around the country and also in Germany have been ... shall we say subdued. After all the hype (TV adverts, billboards, on-line events, song contest, write-ups in virtually every single car mag), there were only very few dealers that actually did anything at all like invite some existing true Roccos into the showroom to promote the new one, and even at those dealers, or so it has been reported on various forums by the owners of said true Roccos, the interest (i.e. number of people turning up at the dealer showroom to look at it, or even buy one) was meagre. The local dealer in Coventry isn't really doing anything, certainly hasn't invited any real Roccos around, then again, their showroom is a bit small for that, since they still need space inside for the regular boring VWs. Just as well, since I wouldn't want to drive my babies through wet roads and rain for such an event  It almost seems that VW has made a good qualifier round, but then left the actual race. What's interesting though is how several pictures have confirmed what a skyscraper the new one is compared to the true Roccos, even standard ones, let alone the modded ones. You probably get a ladder with the new one to get in. Ideal for when I become 70 or so, but then I'd rather get a crane to drop myself into my Karmann Roccos ;-) Tempest Confused Eric, what do you mean by real roccos, surely not old prototype ones - I'm thinking you're referring to the Corrado which is when they completed the develepment of said "Roccos" and got it right
  6. Think the futura's will look rather good 8) Get some pics up when it's all done :)
  7. Noooo where from? Think I will need to keep a good eye on German ebay! They were actually on UK ebay IIRC. There's a business in Rackenheath Norfolk who sell all sorts of VW performance bits and I'm pretty sure it was them. Don't want to upset you but I think they went for about £600. It would be really good to see your car reverted back to how it looked then, the wheels would look fantastic on after the respray :)
  8. Maybe we should all start a trend and go back to 5 spokes as those ABT wheels do look rather nice on the car, did have the chance to buy a brand new set a few months ago :)
  9. I salute you you for doing your own thing :salute: , would imagine it'll grab some attention at E38, I'll certainly be checking it out :) Just out of interest I noticed another silver C in the garage in the background of one of the pics obviously being worked on - whose is that?
  10. How's this, 2 Alpine V12's installed behind the panel facing forward. it's subtle and you still got boot space :)
  11. I think that fuse is also for the sunroof - try it with the fuse blown and see if it works :)
  12. You never know when someone might look underneath your arches
  13. David , I've aways used industrial paint, the kind that machines (lathes, presses, mills etc) are painted with in factories normally that crap light green colour :| . It's available from my local shop that mixes paints for cars and is available in a variety of colours. It's a bit like smooth hammerite and the bonus is the greater variety of colours. If you want to go a step further spray some plasticote on top or regularly coat with some kind of oil or waxoyl .

    best OEM wheels

Just for you Jon :) Neil Birket - Ed of VW Driver kindly sent me a high res copy of this taken on the Saturday at Inters a few weeks ago :) Much as I like the original Speedlines I don't think you can beat a classic cross spoke wheel on a C. They were just made for it IMHO, I just wish they had provided a 16" 5 x 100 RS as a factory option as that would have been perfect in terms of aesthetics and ride and handling compromise. As I always say 17's for show and 16's for go :)
  15. Hi Jon, That's a real bummer and as Dave said your car was looking really nice last weekend. I think a good body shop might be able to repair that and blend in round the top up to the crease line and down the back of the handle. Just a matter of finding someone good enough to do it.
  16. Haven't got a pic of the ISV (Idle Stablisation Valve) - don't you just hate acronyms :) You need to remove the rear black plastic cover on the top of the engine that the plug leads sit in, then if you look at the top right hand side you'll see a valve with an electrical plug and a couple of black hoses connected to it. Remove it and spray some carb cleaner into it and move the plunger back and forward with a screwdiver or similar. Repeat this a few times, draining the fluid and spraying more in and when the fluid looks reasonably clean dry it out with a rag or something then refit. If it only needed a clean it should solve the problem. Good luck :)
  17. Jim, it doesn't matter if you get a VR or whatever you'll still get idiots trying to do the same thing at roundabouts. I was in the VR once and a guy in a Ferrari did it to me but I left him in the middle of the road and he then drove like a complete idiot till he got past me, then he stopped in front of me and started gesturing for me to get out of the car. I just drove round him and off and noted the reg no just in case I happened to see it parked up somewhere in future if you know what I mean :D Oh and a worse one at roundabouts is when you want to go straight on from the inside lane and the idiot in the right hand lane gives it large away from the roundabout then cuts across in front of you to turn left! or you're in the right lane turning right and because the left lane is clear the idiot goes round on the outside and then cuts in front of you! To my mind these 2 manouveres are far more dangerous and sadly I see them more and more on the roads.
  18. Alternative is replace with Mk2 Golf curved ones which enable you to loop the seat belt over them when not done up :)
  19. Hi Dom, welcome back - glad to see you've still got the C, I thought Asim would have converted you to porkers by now :) Think you can get these caps from Volvo as some models I think like the S60 had BBS wheels with these caps fitted.
  20. Think it's to have the option of turning on the interior sensors or not, but sorry can't remember which is which :)
  21. It's the dogs Jim, I had the same reaction when I first used it :) Get yourself a sponge or terry applicator from Halford's, cheap as chips an very easy and quick to apply it with.
