If you still want to use the boot!

Try this thread http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 435&hilit=

Yeh good idea, might try that or some masking or gaffer tape on the bonnet.
-
I heard it referred to as the full Gimp suit on Sunday at Inters  What I will say is that it does protect the bonnet but I've only used it once and it left marks where the toblerone bits are obviously because of the movement and slightly additional weight of this part of it - not due to dirt or grit as the paintwork was spotless. I am reluctant to use it again unless I can prevent it from marking the paint. Oh and it is a Colgan which is one of the more expensive makes.

A 72 Granada 2.5 V6 auto (Sweeney Shape) which my dad had used as a taxi. It was thirsty and handled like a boat!

Hi Scarlett, There were new sets available from VW a few years ago, I know because Asim (moonlight -vr) bought a set. New sets do appear on German E-bay occasionally - last ones I saw were 1900 euros without rubber. They are out there if you're prepared to sell your soul to get them but they're definitely worth it as there's nothing like a Corrado with these fitted IMHO. Also if you keep them in A1 nick you'll always sell them on at a premium price - better investment than property almost

Sounds expensive Lol!

Naughty, naughty Scarlet

All good advice from everyone. Thing is you should get a much better ride quality using coilovers if you only drop the car 35mm. Problem is the coilies cost more if you buy a premium brand, but if that doesn't bother you then it's the way to go.

Could also be leaky injectors which don't shut off completely which then essentially floods the engine while at rest. When it's cold it needs more fuel anyway and there would also have been fuel evaporation since it was last driven.

Michael that is looking rather good! 8)

Sorry Michael, coulddn't resist it

How about one of these Michael? http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/advanc ... e&x=49&y=7

Dinkus is absolutely right - ignore at your peril! I fitted Black Diamond grooved and Pagid FR pads all round and they did take a bit of time to bed in but once they did very happy with them :D

For the rear you'll definitely need "0" which is the bump stop the rest you shouldn't need but it wouldn't hurt to replace anything else.

It was silver. I've got some pics of the Mexico and the XR3 somewhere. I'll see if I can scan them in sometime.

Had one of those too Roddy on an Sept 82 "Y" plate. I got rid of it with 50k on the clock cause it rattled like an old tin can and bought a Mk2 Golf GTI 8 valve with similar miles which didn't have a single sqeak or rattle and there began my love affair with Veedubs!

Looks good, are they electric or heated?
-
Excellent, easy once you suss it!
-
Yeh that's where it goes. You might need to push the bracket towards the seat base to make the slot in the pin accessible and then hold the clip in position then tap it home fully with a small hammer. If you take the plastic cover off your existing seats you'll be able to see it in position.
-
When you fix the back to the base it's via a pin in the base that goes through a hole in the bracket on the seat back. This is the pivot point to tilt the seat forward. These clips are pushed onto the pins (one each side of each seat) which have a slot that should be visible once assembled. The clip just prevents the seat back bracket from coming off the pin HTH!
