  1. I'd be interested to know how loud the exhaust is with the one silencer removed. I know that when I fitted a straight through single silencer GRP1 exhaust system on my RS2000 (yes I'm going back to my RS days....LOL) it was very loud!!
  2. I'm after the following for my VR6; Black Leather Front (non electric) and Rear Seats with matching front and rear door cards. The front door cards need to be the early type. Everything must be in good condition with no rips, tears, scuffs or bolster wear. Cash waiting.
  3. Good advice by Redfox about ditching the K&N. If you are going to do a lot of mileage then stick an OE filter on it.
  4. To get good handling and comfort, everything needs to work in harmony. The dampers, springs, bushes, tyre pressures, chassis/bodyshell stiffness and the suspension geometry has to work together. The more adjustment/variables you have (damper rebound and bump settings, ride height changes) the harder it will be to set up to give good handling and comfort. I've lost count the number of times I've come across cars with modified suspension systems to "improve the handling" and the individual can't even tell me what tyre pressures they are running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally, the only way that you will be able to tell if your car is handling any better (and not just feeling like it is handling any better) is to take it on a race track and get before and after lap times.
  5. Hi, sent you pm about clocks (and leather steering wheel if Gareth does not want it). Cheers.
  6. Jamie, speaking form personal experience. If you go to page 4 of this thread and see my 7 june 2012 10.55am post, there are pictures of my alloys. The proper process to refurb wheels is as follows; (1) Coarse blast to remove corrosion and brake dust. (2) Old paint then completely stripped chemically or mechanically depending on wheel design. (3) Scuff and dings repaired and welded. (4) Wheels computer lathe turned for smooth finish. (5) Chemical treatment applied to prevent corrosion. (6) Powder coat primer applied. (7) Colour coat applied. (8.) Final lacquer coat applied. You get what you pay for. A professional wheel refurb place will charge between £250 to £400, and the wheels will look as good as new. That's why I say that you get what you pay for. Before you use someone, ask them if they do the entire above process themselves, or if they are simply sending them away to be powder coated.
  7. This question has been asked so many times that I think I'll do a definitive guide with photos, etc.
  8. I would only use these guys for "cheap" alloys. If I had an expensive set of alloys I would either take them to a professional wheel refurb place, or I would prep the wheels myslef and just get them to do the powder coating. Remember, the saying, "you get what you pay for", well in my opinion that is very true in this case.
  9. iR6, you are spot on. There are certain things that can help to make a car a classic, and a motorsport heritage/success is one of them. If VW had made a few "special" Corrados and entered them into some category of Motorsport, then they would have become valuable today. And that is regardless if they were any good as competition cars. Think of the RS200 which was designed for Group B, which was banned. Look at how much RS200's are fetching. In fact all the RS Fords are fetching more than even a mint concours Corrado.
  10. I think I know why I didn't think it was any good, it's because I was stone sober, which means you lot must have been drunk! lol And another thing that hacks me off is the way the BBC always seems to find plenty of money to televise things like the "Royal Weddings", Jubilee, Olympics ceremonies, etc. Yet they never have the money to keep World Championship Boxing, Premiership Football and now F1 on free to air TV. It's great, BBC licence fee paid by us, yet we have to buy Sky to watch any sport. Great, fantastic, brilliant....welcome to rip off UK.
  11. ben_wooduk I'm not a Utd fan, but I have alot of respect for Ferguson, best manager in my opinion. He should have got rid of Rooney, and he did the right thing lamping Beckham with the football boot he threw at him. Great shot! What I don't get or accept is the way the usual suspects always want the limelight, and it's us that pays for it all. I looked at a picture on the BBC of the ceremony, and it just looks a mess. It's a bit of this, and a bit of that, but zero coordination. It seems like they simply threw everything into the mix, and vomit came out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18971766
  12. Watched about half an hour of it and in my opinion it was a load of bolloxs. What hacks me off is that it is paid by all of us tax payers, yet the free loader VIP's get the best tickets for free. And as per usual we had Mr "I Like Getting The Attention, I'm So Great Beckham" in it again. Is Beckham the only "British sports star" in the UK? You would think so judging by how his ugly mug crops up again and again. No wonder this country is bankrupt. Apart from that, I like to watch the finals of the races, 100m 200m 400m...that's about it. Oh and the womans beach volley ball, for obvious reasons, although the British ladies are mingers.
  13. When you ask are they good or bad, will the answers you get form this forum affect your opinion on them? I think it is a strange question as I would have thought you would have judged for yourself if the AP's are any good based on how well your car rides and handles. Personally I think spending vast amounts on money on coilovers is a complete waste of money on a road car as the vast majority don't even have them set up correctly. Just my opinion.....
  14. Best way is defo with the engine and gearbox out. It takes a little longer, but you can do a much better overall job without having to struggle and lean over into the engine bay.
  15. The Corrado VR6 and the G60 both have 280mm front discs. The 254mm ones are on all the 8v's and 16v's. The 288mm ones I believe are on the Golf VR6.
  16. OK. Don't hold off selling if you get an offer, but I'll let you know by midday tomorrow if I will have it off you. Just need to see if my finances can stretch as this is very "unplanned"...lol
  17. Seriously considering having the ticket off you. Is it for any location in particular? What do you mean by normal/general admission? Apologies for my naivety.
  18. Spain the best team ever? No way. They are good, but how much that has to do with everyone else in Europe being poor is the question. It is a widely accepted fact that the Latin American countries (Brazil, Argentina) play football like it should be played, and that's why they have won the World Cup so many times. The players are skillful and actually want the ball. Spain is Latin, so they will have some of these traits, but are the the best ever, no way in my opinion. And they've only won the World Cup once, in 2010. Italy has a better record having won the World Cup 4 times, to Brazils 5 times. As for England, the players are skill-less and overpaid. When you look at the premiership clubs, most of the best players are foreign!! I have no idea why anyone watches or supports England, as they are a bad advertisement for football. Let's be honest, all that they are really good at is crossing and set pieces. But hey, what do I know, as I don't really follow football these days as it's no longer a "mans game" and full of fairies.
  19. Is this a digifant injection? If so, I have all the injection/ignition/electric relay stuff if you need anything.
  20. Yeah Farage is top class and always taking the mickey out of them all. Is this the first time you've seen this lol ---------- Post added at 11:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:50 PM ---------- You'll like this one, classic Galloway puts Campbell in his place lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU_bGNBSm2s
  21. Dam, you agreed to that rather quickly. So now I want £75 for it..........Only joking lol. A deals a deal. I've replied to your PM.
  22. jamie, don't worry, you're not being cheeky. (although you might still find a horses head in your bed!) Ok, I'll do it for £50, but postage will be extra (is that what you meant by +postage?). You decide how you want to posted (standard post, recorded, special, courier) and I'll send it to you by that method. As for features, it's got everything that modern stereos have apart from a USB port. When it was fitted it was the top line Sony. Don't forget it has a 10 disc autochanger, and not 6. And it's all complete with nothing missing.
