Hi Matt, Received with thanks Cheers. -
Interesting, I wonder if that will prevent electric engines taking over, or at least put it back a while
-
Drive past this chap everyday, may have to pop in to sort out my tin worm

The Birmingham postcode is a bad one in terms of risk. I've got the same problem, ended up trying all the classic car companies for the best one. Some (non classic) insurers wanted 1.5k for my Vr6. I'm 28 with 5 years NCB

Hi Matt, I'll take one please, Cheers. -
Recon that will effect prices much?
-
Lol! It does, in a more than one situation! Reving the engine of the car with the good battery made a big a difference.
-
I charged the battery for about 6min and it started okay. Took for a good run, seems okay now. Cheers for advice. Ill have to keep and eye on this battery.

Hi all, Went down to the garage today and it won't start. Vault gauge was showing less than 10 and when I turned the key the Abs light, alternator light and oil light all flash and the car makes a ticking noise. I thought, flat battery, so tried giving it a jump start, after 4 min of charging it still wouldn't start. Reckon it needs a new battery? Anything else I could have missed?

I'll be giving DG a call soon I think, fairly close to me. They look like a good garage

sad indeed, I dread the day if/when they no longer become a viable car to drive around often.

Price £3700 Details: 2006 1.4 TDCI Style in Silver Ex Fleet vehicle (lex autolease) 2 owners 46,704 miles (won't increase as I'm not using) Taxed until: 31/05/13 (£30 a year road tax) MOT: 05/06/13 2 keys 5 Door Hatchback, Full Service History with bills and receipts Diesel, Manual, Height adjustable drivers seat, Folding rear seats, Cloth seat trim, Body coloured bumpers, Drivers airbag, Front electric windows. CD player Work done: 20/03/13 Genuine Ford Wheel trims fitted 16/03/13 New front tyre (Hancook) and wheel balance 22/10/12 Interim Service Brake fluid changed 20/07/12 2 new front shocks and moutings New tyre (Hancook) Laser wheel alignment 23/06/12 Full service 26/07/12 Timing belt and Water pump & 35,368 Miles fanbelt 2 front Discs 2 front pads Bad points: Some scuffs to the paintwork in a few places Some of the plastic trim is a little faded Front wheel arches some paint stipped off and some surface rust. I've just been quoted £350 to sort the above item at a local bodywork shop, to get the rust off, repainted and colour matched (Beemabuild West Bromwich). The price has been adjusted to reflect this. Overall its a good solid car, thats been used daily to get me to and from work, 33 miles away. Very Cheap to run. I'll upload some photes later this weekend (including the front wheel arches), may also be putting it up on Auto trader later this week. Ian

Hi all, Lately my Vr6 has started cutting out when cold. It doesn't get used much at the moment, once every two weeks due to weather. Its also got quite a rough idle, but once it warms up its fine. I've heard that Vr6's can have a rough idle at times, but is this normal? May see about taking it to a specialist.

Hi All, Recently swapped the Diesel fiesta for a 1.7 lupo SDI Its seen as the pig of the diesel Lupo's, but still amazing compared to that cack Ford! (will be posting a link to the for sale add soon ) Does anyone know a good lupo club? This got me thinking, any other Lupo owners on here? ...Just to be clear, the Corrado is the first love, just cant afford to do 66 miles a day in a Vr6 ; D

Took my L reg VR6 for its service this week. When I went to collect it just before the garage closed The owner said: "Thats a nice car that, bound to go up in value in a few years, what a classic" He then said: "A customer has left his details for you, if you ever want to sell your car, he really liked the look of it and had never seen one before." Two in one day! ---------- Post added at 1:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:26 PM ---------- Took my L reg VR6 for its service this week.
