Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
daves16v replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yes still doing them but the price is £15. It sounds like your handle could be on it's last legs, not sure about the internal handle not springing back properly. I'm not going to say yes my kit will fix your problem as it sounds like you might have other issues too. By all means you can buy a kit off me ready for it finally going pop. Your choice :) Dave -
It's probably me being lazy, I'll post up a new thread.
-
I'll let you know next week on price. Cam cover - I need someone local with a VR to try it out for fit, I'm struggling with this at the moment.
-
I've got the parts cut, just need to weld em up. Should be done early next week.

My 16v Corrado.. Featured in this months (Jan 2010) PVW!
daves16v replied to Bally's topic in Members Gallery
Looking good Bally, agreed the rims are sweet. -
You can cut down on the distortion with an airline but the sunroof is in the middle of the roof with no adjacent stiffening as is the case with the gutters - they are close to the edge of the roof where the sheet is formed (has a bend down the length).

I've just got back in from trying out different self tappers, the bad news is the Corrado floor is just too thick for self tappers, the threads just strip no matter what whole size I drill or what screw size I use. So it's back to Tapping the hole I'm afraid. I'll look into the costs of supplying the correct drill bit and Tap for the job.
-
Thanks monkey, For easier installation I'm going to go for self tappers but I'll need to do some tryouts so these won't be ready till next week. Thanks

i think so :D ......was it cold and windy at Knockhill by the way? @Dave16v, if you view my cutting up of the Corrado pictures, you can see EXACTLY what kind of metal thickness the tranny tunnel is made up from as I cut through there to quarter the floorpan. hth, Jon.[/quote:31e97s1w] You got a link to this?

I can get hold of Stainless much easier, apart from that if I made them from Ali the price wouldn't change. The reason I went with machine screws - the floor seem to be made up of either thick steel or double thinkness, self tappers are designed for thin material's where a tapped thread is inappropriate. I found this out when I tried to use self tappers in a similar area on the floor. I could have used large diameter self tappers (bigger thread pitch) but this would be overkill.

Right, I've now made the bracket from Stainless and modified it slightly. The finished item fits very well and more importantly holds firm :D - see photo, I'm very happy with it. For those wanting one I can do it for £12.50 posted which includes all Stainless screws nuts and washers. You will need to provide your own 6mm drill bit for the plastic and M4 Tap for the floor fixing. As most people will already have a drill bit close to the correct size, I may be able to supply the Tap but it will up the cost slightly. Comments welcome.

The roof will distort through weld heat.

Deffo Black. Not used the car since so can't talk about cold seats, car is garaged anyway so shouldn't be too cold, dam slippery though!

So do i but i dont think it exists. Lookin good Dave. Are you bringing it to Stanford Hall in a few weeks? Sadly not, it's SORNed at the mo but I'll be there in person.

Subject edited.

No, it's the cover trim that stretches from the gear surround to the rear ashtray. Although it's not the cover that's the problem, it's the part underneath.
-
It's in the for sale section.
-
I'm going to make 1 next week so I'll knock up a few more while I'm at it.
-
Found myself some bargain Storm leather couple of weeks back.

Anyone notice how loose the handbrake centre trim cover has become on their Rado. I had this on both my Rado's and have seen it on just about every other Rado I've seen. I've found it's the crap plastic fixings that hold the plastic tunnel down either side the handbrake. Even with new items they just never seem to do the job or if they do it doesn't last long. I've knocked up a simple bracket that screws down to the floor (drill and tap) and is bolted through the plastic tunnel. It's made of Ali at the moment but I'm making one from Stainless for even less flex. I've completely left off the 2 front plastic fixings but kept the rear 2. Edit 07/02/2020 - £15 posted without drill bit and tap. £18 posted with drill bit and tap.

Front bracket now fabbed and on!
-
Stu has posted the bracket, I'm just waiting for it to arrive. Fingers crossed I'll have 1 finished next week.

Car is SORNed for a while so can't test it anyway.

After searching for threads regarding the above and finding many talking about which pipes to block I noticed that there wasn't that many photo's showing what people had done about getting air into the box. So here's my attempt at it. All fabricated Ali including the plate to block off the existing inlet opening with Stainless self tappers. The inlet tube is 100mm long ready for flexible or rigid tubing to connect. The view from below is interesting - look carefully and you can see someone peering down the tube

Many thanks to Charlie (chazrad) for the front calipers and carriers. They were as described and well packaged. Cheers bud
