  1. I've searched high and low for this on vagcat, can't find the part number anywhere. It's for a 94 VR with the pin arrangement in a triangle. Any help very welcome. Ta
  2. Looks like I've got the wrong sender as it's low pressure is stamped on the side at 2bar. Thanks again for the help.
  3. Yippee! I found a broken wire at the knock sensor connector on the loom side, repaired it, ran it up to temp and hey presto no fault code. But the big test will be taking it out for a run. Thanks to PurpleTom for a little help.
  4. Thanks for the info chaps, I'll take a look at the sender.
  5. Fitted my OEM gauge at the weekend but didn't run it up to temp. Today I ran it up to temp to check another problem and now the oil pressure light is flashing when it's fully warm. The gauge is reading about 2bar at idle which I think is about right. I've double checked everything including the position of the dual pole sender on the oil filter housing. The sender is a 10 bar item and there is plenty of oil in the engine, I didn't have a problem before the gauge install. Increasing engine speed cures things but then back at idle the light is flashing again. Was ok during warm up which I expected as the pressure is usually higher. I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions? Thanks
  6. I can relate to this as my house is of a similar design and yes the upstairs rooms do suffer a little, not a huge problem but it's evident. I have a theory at least in my house and it's this - Lofts have to be ventilated, so the air comes in through the eaves into the loft where it then travels down the sloped uninsulated roof space and finds it's way between bedroom floorboards and ground floor ceiling. I know this because the carpets around the skirting have become a slight dirty grey where drafts have been blowing in. I can also feel the drafts. No doubt drafts are finding their way in through the slopped roof itself too. A cheap fix would be most welcome but that's wishful thinking I reckon.
  7. Could be the micro-switch in the handle is bust, if so it's new handle time.
  8. Cheers dragon, I'm really happy with the way it's turning out. Matt, give me a couple of days and I'll list out everything, might even be able to help out with wiring. Pete, the gearknob was on the car when I bought it, see here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?13191-Rieger-Illuminated-Gear-Knob-and-Gaitor&highlight=illuminated+gear
  9. Pete, I don't drive my VR too often but I'm loving the OBD2 so much more then OBD1, it's really grown on me. It's the first mod I'd do on a standard VR now.
  10. Plenty of room for the sender, not much room to get your arm down there though. ---------- Post added at 07:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:35 PM ---------- Andy, yeah love it. The knob was already on the car when I bought it but I'm guessing it is a Richbrook.
  11. Fitted mine today but found some incorrect forum info regarding the connections on the back of the gauge. Referring to the connection labels on the back of the gauge - G Druck - Pressure sender KL.15+12V - Power supply from battery or other 12v. I took it from the battery as it is pure and not affected by other sources KL.31 - Earth KL.58+Bel. - Gauge illumination. I took it from the cigarette lighter Please shout if you need any more info. Thanks Dave
  12. Installed my OEM VDO Gauge today, took quite some time but I wanted to make a very neat install. I did come across a problem with some incorrect forum information so will post a correction. The results are stunning, absolutely love the gauges. I routed the wiring through an existing grommet just above the clutch pedal and then routed the wiring through split convoluted conduit around the bay to the battery and sender.
  13. Pete, glad it's nearly all done, seems an age since you started your OBD2 conversion. Looking good now, which Black is it?
  14. Yes but of course you have to destroy them to get them out. Prise the rubber out first, should be easy if they're buggered, then cut through the outer with a hacksaw being very careful not to cut the wishbone itself. Then use a hammer/drift to knock em out.
  15. Do you have the gear stick assembly? I don't need the cables to the box. Thanks

  19. Nah not yet, it's not causing me a big problem at the moment but I will crack it soon as it's down on power slightly.
