    4-stud spacesaver

    I've got one in Notts.
  2. Pete, yeah the genuine rattle can paint is pretty good, I used it when I repaired my rusty lower arches.
  3. Jay, VR rear beams are wider, I know I've measured a stripped VR and a stripped 16v beam.

  5. Just a shame you aren't willing to post anything, it will affect your chances.
  6. Baz, I've got a VR wheel but it's got a lot of cracking to the top side. Let me know your email address and I'll send some pics if you're interested. Dave
  7. I'm not in Manchester, I'm part way between Derby and Notts.
  8. £20 + post which I guess will be about a tenner given the size.
  9. Probably with a dremmel, I cut down each side with a hacksaw blade then using mole grips to bend and snap the piece off, deburred it afterwards. It's a little time consuming with a hacksaw blade though. ---------- Post added at 01:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 PM ---------- No, never felt the need to.
  10. AFAIK the OBD1 manifolds are the same, the OBD2 manifold (AAA only) have a different throttle body mounting. I have a spare OBD1 manifold off my VR if you're interested?
  11. Yes correct. ---------- Post added at 10:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 PM ---------- Ollie and Shaun, no probs whenever you're ready.
  12. Pic of area to be cut, it's about 20mm wide by the height of the upstand and is hidden from view.
  13. So which part don't you like, the cutting of the body I guess? I'll post up a pic of the section to be cut, it's really not that big, I can understand if you don't want to touch the body.
  14. It is air operated, there is a micro switch in the handle that tells the system you are unlocking the car. The air operation then unlocks all doors and tailgate.
  15. Matt, Once you are happy with the shifter I'd like your old shifter in 2 weeks if possible. You can keep it for £50 but ideally I'd like it returning, your choice. The biggest part of the install is removing a small section of the flange on the body (circled in the pic) otherwise you have to drop it out of the bottom of the car. You do have to adjust the shifter after installation also. If you screw things up you can always refit your existing shifter but the result is worth any install hassle. Any more questions just ask. Thanks Dave
  16. The broken piece that is still in the handle is only about 25% of the complete striker arm, the other 75% will be in the bottom of the door, that's probably why you were confused. Yeah the pivot pin can be a pain but I have changed them where the pin has almost dropped out. Glad you got it sorted in the end but as a last resort I do offer to repair them if posted to me. ---------- Post added at 06:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:03 PM ---------- No, it's central locking wiring.
  17. If you can get access to the rear of the pin you can push it out with a bradawl (pointed instrument for marking holes in wood). This is the method I use and works 99% of the time. ---------- Post added at 02:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 PM ---------- No you're not missing anything.
  18. If I remember you can access the clip by prising off the plastic cover on the end of the door. You can also get to it from inside the door after you have removed the door card but it's tight.

I visit the Nottingham branch too and they are very good. The dealer have sent me to TPS when they didn't have what I wanted in stock.
  20. Gaz, yep no probs. ---------- Post added at 10:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:59 PM ---------- PM sent.
  21. I'm now in a position to offer Short Shift Gear Sticks for the Corrado. Details - Forward and back reduction. Neutral to gear select reduction of 20mm (25%). It's only a mild reduction to prevent notchyness and excessive effort required to change gear. All worn parts replaced. Use your existing gear knob. Mechanism cleaned and greased. Install guide provided. Sold on an exchange basis only. If not completely satisfied, return the shifter for a refund. For those who know the quality of my work and service, you can be assured of the same here. Price is £100 posted with £25 refund on the return of your shifter to me. I can modify your shifter if it is sent to me but it needs to be in good condition, I will need it for around 10 days, cost for this is £70 posted back to you. Payment by Paypal or bank transfer, PM me for details. Thanks
  22. Kev you are so right, I drive a 1.2 Corsa to get me to work and back. Then when I jump into my VR it feels great. I drive a 59 plate Fiesta regularly too and even after that the VR feels great.
  23. Yep agreed and I just sold it as I couldn't afford to run it and my VR. I'd have another if it were my only car.
  24. I've made shortshifters in the past and am working on another batch.
