  1. Fitted a new VAG fuel filter today along with Stainless hose clips and mounting hardware.
  2. Well I like it but I would as mine is becoming blinged up a little more every week.
  3. This was a candidate for breaking for sure so well done for rescuing it. Did you get your parts from a guy in Long Eaton breaking a Green VR? I only live 5 mins away and was down there a couple of weeks back.
  4. Going back about 8 years the rear Koni's on my valver required the washer to be drilled out. The shocker shaft is definitely a bigger diameter, in fact it says in the install guide to drill the rears out.
  5. Kev, a friend recommended this one as a low end machine - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mig-150-Amp-Gas-Gasless-Welder-Turbo-Fan-9325T-Quality-Engineered-No-KF-/190586901932?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c5fdd55ac#ht_3311wt_1064
  6. Looking good Jay, glad you like the short shift.
  7. Pennies from the Dealer.
  8. Ryan, I've no knowledge of the Mk4 shifter mod so I can't comment. The pivot position has been shifted higher up. Thanks Dave
  9. Stone, yeah I made a Stainless version and someday I'll get round to making more.
  10. I priced this up about 4 weeks back at the dealer - £29.50. Part number 701919369D
  11. Agree with Mark, put it back in Gruvens court. When you say bigger washers where are you fitting these? The standard rad neck doesn't use washers, it's just the o-ring that provides the seal. I don't want to put a further downer on this but when I saw a Gruven rad neck at the Stealth rolling road day last year it looked very badly finished, just hope the workmanship doesn't extend to the seal/mating faces. I've got a slightly bigger seal somewhere if you get stuck.
  12. I'm seriously tempted for a set of these, will be a perfect compliment to the mods already done and for stuff I've got in the pipeline.
  13. Yes that pretty much the process. Prise off the speaker grill at the bottom to get to the screw. Not all door handle screws are left hand thread, I think most are so try it first off.
  14. Kev, If you're going to buy a welding plant then I'm guessing you'll want to use it for other projects in the future? These projects could be car related, garden/household or general repairs/fabrication, at least that's what I would do. So I'm guessing you'll need a plant that can happily weld anything from 1mm to 3 or 4mm in mild and stainless steels? Let me know what you have in mind and I'll hopefully get some suggestions for you sometime at the weekend. Also do you have a budget price to stick to? Ta
  15. Kev, I can put some questions to the experienced welders here at work if you like.
  16. 288 calipers and carriers............99p + post.
  17. Always liked AZEV's, love it mate, nice and simple.
  18. Was a long time ago but I think I just welded it back on.
  19. Yep same here, welded it back on.

    Glovebox bulb

I ended up buying a pack of 10, gave some away to friends, got about 6 left. I can post you one but David's Ebay suggestion is just as good.
