  1. Surround £150, scraper is extra! You can only get late surrounds so you'll need to trim the end 20mm or so off the scraper or get a late one.
  2. They'll want around £150 a side IIRC!
  3. If you've got a loom it may also just be all the connectors corroded, bit of wet and dry and some wd40 or similar and sorted.
  4. Mines and old concept 50 and I'm sure the brain is in a metal drillproof etc box. all under the heater box.
  5. If you shop around it can be cheaper to buy both bits from different places, I think mine with a N-95b 8Gb swivel base and corrado specific clip was around £38 all in. The dash clip needed working to fit though, nothing's easy, it also fits Passats and I bet it fits them better!!
  6. Can't imagine how she managed that.....
  7. Pattern tank (topran methinks) from local parts place and cap. Cost the same as a Mk4 VW original :bad-words:

    retumble sum1?

It was on the knowledge base but the Wiki is screwed at the mo. :(
  9. I did in December but not with a Mk4 golf one. Too late now not doing it again for the sake of it!
  10. Kev's photo makes it look like just two wires so you could trial and error it. If you get it right the coolant light should come on before you fill it, if not swap it round. :) Dare I say it - it may not matter which way round it is!!?
  11. If anything it sounds easier cos we have no fan gubbins or whatever in the way. Trust this to pop up after changing mine!!!
  12. Have you tried hacksawing off the little metal bracket at the back of the dash/HU slot? Would make a difference if it's still there!
  13. 8) good plan should last forever then - sort of
  14. Cool, so just a sticking part  easy fix! If not another lock will fix it i guess. Good stuff. 8)
  15. Some of this may be of use. You generally get what you pay for!
  16. Good work hope you find the problem, and cure it. I had issues with Audi handles and the length of the door latch accuating rod. It maybe the same for you? If the rod is wrong length it stops the latch unlocking, well it did on the audi ones. It's a ball ache but at least you can get the door card off. There's not alot of access though, hope your hands are smaller than mine!! Taking the latch assembly right out and seeing how it works may help give a clue. Hopefully something has just fallen off/disconnected!!
  17. You can get to the rear two doorcard screws with the door shut but you'll have to lever it off at the front, the screw receptacle should pull out of the door. It's a bit of a pain.
  18. I'll second that, mine needs tweeking and it feels a bit weird AND noisey first thing.
  19. My guess is the Stealers!! Kev omitted the price of that though, prob cos it's £20 or something ridiculous
  20. Just small top hose to rad and bigger bottom hose to block and the electrics mate
  21. I have suggested this to if I'd not been half asleep, vacuum pipes the easy check...D'oh!
  22. I'll be honest and say I don't know how the locking works. Someone will give you a better answer tomorrow no doubt.
  23. Yes mate! The alternator pivots on two bolts attaching it to the block, loosen these. The top alternator attachment is a long slotted bracket with a large lock-nutted and toothed adjustment bolt which engages in some teeth on the bracket. Loosen the lock nut, adjust tension by rotating the bolt with the teeth on and then lock off the bolt and tighten the pivot bolts. The belt's at the correct tension when you can only twist it through 90 degrees. 8)
  24. No idea what the prob may be but mine has always done the 30-or-so-second double lock thing but only once each time as far as I know.
