Ah Jim, can't tell u how what I think about this coz the censor would have me. Same thing happened to my VR but I disturbed the b******s so at least I still own it. But it don't matter what you're driving its still a sh*t thing to happen. cu tomorrow m8

grugh wrote The Cat stone guard rear fixings on my VR are prone to letting go and then rattle on pulling away - doesn't happen when motoring. Have to say kind of a light tinny noise rather than the 'seat of pants drumming' you describe. I know you had a good look but did you notice that bit?
-
This cropped up in another thread but can't remember which one. Anyway, its basically a 'handle' to help you pull the plug leads off coz there isn't much room for your fingers. It can be rotatated & unclipped for where you want to use it.

To add my bit to the joys of the corrado wiring. Yes they only operate in series (ie not at same time); one touch (should) only works on down - up was supposedly not permitted because of safety incase a minor (or halfwit - take your pick) accidentally got their their head (or other extremity) trapped in there. There were/are various after market lifter kits around which may or may not have the one touch function. I suppose it is possible that this may account for the ones with the one touch up function? Mine are definitely original fit and only do it down. And yes, I tick the poll box

8vg60 Darren, I sent a pm as well. Has your lecky done my headlamp looms yet? Can u bring 'em on Sunday if he has pse? Save a bit on postage.
-
well, I agree giving it a thrash will keep it loosened up, and only 2 mins to work will get u nowhere near normal operating temps. But it should still start without throttle from cold in any event, so I suspect it has something wrong with it.
-
all things being = shall be there likewise look forward meeting some of u
-
Dave, for what its worth I agree with jims16v that u shouldn't need any throttle to get it going from cold. That u do indicates a problem with the fuel/air mix and is most likely to be caused by a vacuum leak somewhere; less effect once its warmed up so don't worry about driving it tho' obviously it'll go better if u find the snag.

we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??

Are you sure you want to know? I'm just 53 yrs young, next milestone in July. As this seems to have developed into a cars I've had thread here what I've done. You weren't born then but....Vauxhall Victor; 3 minis, last one a Cooper bored to 1050, stage 2 ported/flowed/big valve head, twin 1.5 SUs, light fly, hardened balanced crank, deseamed body, flares for spaced 5.5J wheels - it was fun; MG Midget; MGB; Lotus Elan; 4.2 Jag XJ6; Alfetta GTV (+2 Mk1 Escort estates while I was rebuilding it) and another 4.2 XJ6; a Polo (having stuffed the Alfa into the back of a POLICE car  ) Got the 16v in '92 and the VR6 to go with it in 2000 & still know what my right foot's for LOL -
still in the RAF after 38 years :salute: one to go before lookin for a job I'll enjoy getting out of bed for comms engineer of sorts, but desk bound these days wondering why my computer doesn't understand me :? so pooh bah to all you geeks out there
-
looking at it another way, if you crash that bad then chances are you won't have a window there anyway

Ant wrote wow, a rear engined corrado. is that why u sold the Mk1 Darren? Nice to meet u too Jim. saw 3 other Cs but none of them on the forum, 2 VRs & a G60. Only clocked one of the VRs - a nice silver grey, lowered about 60mm, wolfsburgs & an induction kit - which ran a 15.02 maybe see a few more of us on 30th then?
-
xlnt whatever

Decisions, decisions. Do I order a stealer set or wait to see who else interested & see if we can do a group thing? Lets hear from you guys
-
That sounds like fun - I haven't been abroad for ages  Summer? when would that be then? but around sep sounds ok Long as the ferry stays the right way up!
-
Andi, I'm in the middle of planning suspension & brakes to my VR6. I put new standard discs & pads on it last w/e for the MOT this Fri. If u can wait a few (?) days till I've made up my mind what I'm going to do you can have the discs & pads if you want m8 Am I a good bloke or what?
-
I must be Kylie coz, toch wood, never had any trouble with either of mine. Famous last words...............

jims corrado wrote Jim u beat me to it by a day. Just put mine on in that configuration and they are the dogs; its been wet here today so have been able to use them - and now I can see wher I'm going :D :D Recommend this to evryone as a must do. All I was going to add for anyone still unsure was that the Lupo blades have the arm pick up points at different positions along the blade length. So although the blades are actually the same overall length, on the passengers side you effectively get a bit more blade length from the pick up point outwards than if you had used a drivers side blade. Alles Klaar?

what and blow a fuse? no worries about going mate, like you I enjoyed the hell out of it look forward to 16th so who else is coming then? :D
-
damn, thought u were going to spread 'em out a bit Ant on account of costs, now I've got to go over there again! but might just watch as I cant compete!!!
-
only managed 16.198 in the standard VR but someone had to be tail gunner! Good 2 c u guys and good fun too Ant did u sort your fuses, what was up with it?
-
OK don't fancy these outside they'll look pants; why I was asking really coz some b***** did the door on my VR  - still got the car though :D :D I reckon fitting inside will require welding & a paint job as well so doon't know if I want to go there - again!
-
No lift then - great. But the pass side is longer than drivers, so wonder how much that would reduce the swept area by - would it still be mot legal? Anyway am off to the stealers tonight & will check it out then.
-
Well mine's later than that and doesn't have it so I still think was probably an option
