  1. Cheers guys, I'm after a new thermo housing anyway, front of car to come off and will do the whole lot in one go. Is the Thermostat ok as i've heard there can be problems when a new one is fitted? Good to here the seller is ok and the goods are the same.

    Zinc plating

I used my local chrome platers, i just took all the items down to them and got a quote. I'm pretty sure this is the way most places will do their pricing.
  3. Found this on Ebay don't know if it will be any good. What do you guys think. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-VR6-CORRADO-WATER-FLANGE-THERMO-HOUSING-C513-/220505500573?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item335726eb9d
  4. Carrots, you will have probably checked the sun-roof drains, and the door membranes, heater matrix? You will have to back track on them and see if any of them have let you down again. Very frustrating when you think you have sorted a problem and it then comes back to haunt you. Wish you luck, keep us posted.
  5. The rocco is fantastic to drive and also getting good fuel economy form the DSG gearbox and the 2.0 tsi engine.
  6. Excuse my ignorance here, this for intake and what benefits do you get? (Alanh see you are in Rotherham?)
  7. Had all the Commodore computers, they were the puppies dangly bits at the time. State of the art graphics for it's time.
  8. Nice colour, also not to my taste tbh.
  9. I remember those ads. It was a lot about the VW build qua lit, which was very good in the day, but all the cars then were new and now are all shall we say getting on a bit. I actually did this the other week when we picked up the new Rocco and flicked the wifes ear ring and said no rattles then? not like my Corrado! I live just outside Rotherham. As for meets i am going to post a "Yorkshire owners meet" there is a good place called the old post office on the M1 off junction 38. Will try and get one sorted when the weather picks up. Found these info film and commercial.
  10. Ok, Wayne. I've been reading your threads, oh the woes and tow's. Your not on your own though i am on my 3rd year of owning my car i need it practically all week and had no real bad stuff go tits up tbh but this past 2 months it's started to rebel on me. I have the cooling fan coming on when the car hasn't even moved, the ignition switch is kaput, and i think the fuel pump or relay (i hope it is the relay) is going twang boing. All these in 2 days. Just have to get the spanners out get hands dirty and get her right again. The joys of the Corrado.

    Thule roof racks

I've done a search for these on their web site for you, but came up short. The factory where they are made was based down the road from me as well, dunno if it is still there, or has been taken over by a different company tbh.
  12. Possibly JIm, When i ordered there was a few in stock, maybe there's been a influx of radiator related problems of late? I think you can still get the housing seal from the stealers but i'm not 100%.
  13. Hi Wayne i bought one of these from VW heritage the other week ordered at 1pm and came 8am the next day. The seal does NOT come with the housing. Bloody shame there out of stock. https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/535121647/water-take-off-flange-top-of-radiator-mk2-golf-corrado-g6/
  14. Son has Golf GTI mk6 wife has the Rocco and i have the Raddo. Which can u guess i like the most?
  15. No worries, The cable does sound as if it is in need of some lubrication. As for the problem it's self i don't think it is cable related. You could try contacting VW Heritage for a new cable. https://www.vwheritage.com
  16. Not had a look yet Jim too busy with work and cant see in the dark. Will have a look for the said nightmare screw when i can. Anyone got any pics btw?
  17. Cheers for the info. Anyone local who can do the PIA job? ..lol
  18. Just want to check and confirm it's this part number for the switch? Also has anyone got a number for the fuel pump relay? Cheers.
  19. Don't know if this will shed any light on the problem. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=32650
  20. Cheers Jim would this be the relay as explained in this thread, take it the relays on the drivers side right hand under shelf? never been in the fuse box tbh http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5157 The fault is intermittent so i hope it is the relay.
  21. Cheers guys, so this will be ok the one on VW Heritage? What got me was the car was turning over and over ok, but not firing up, as though it was not getting fuel, that was my question would this be a fault with the ingition switch a Jim has kindly pointed out? I have tried my spare key which was cut from the one i use now and it seems to fit a lot tighter in the barrel / switch. Which to me works better. having said that i will deffo be replacing the switch.
  22. Thanks Jim, this the part number i have found for Ignition switch - Part number 6N0 905 865
  23. Today i have had the car not starting twice! once in Tesco's car park and then in the petrol station. Don't know if there is more than one fault here and both may or not be related tbh. The car was turning over but NOT starting. Then the ignition started to play up. When turning the key nothing was happening, then wiggled the key and it started to engage the starter motor. I know from experience that it is not immobiliser connected fault as the car will start for a few seconds and then turn off if it is this fault. Any feed back would be appreciated.
  24. Update, i've checked all the obvious sensors which were all working fine before. More than likely water has got in the rad sensor on the bottom of the rad. Going to run it today got a local meet on so i'll see how it performs. EDIT: Another fault has come up now the speedo needle is moving up quickly when ticking over and driving. Calling all you electrical boffs.
