  1. Tempest

    8x15"

Would recommend 195/50, as they already stretch quite nicely (peeps having seen my Mk1 where I'm running 15x8 with 195/50s will know :) ), 195/45 might be too much. Tempest
  2. My Sainsbury's don't even do the Super unleaded  Only 95 octane, erm, 95 octane, and diesel, that's when the till girlie is knowledgable, most don't even know what's in their pumps  . So despite all the calls for a boycott of BP et al, I'm afraid that in the UK there are not enough alternatives for the 98-octane stuff, unlike Germany, where every petrol station sells 3 types of petrol (91, 95, 98 octane, or even V100-octane -Power). I just hate it, when most stations only have 2 types of fuel: 95 and diesel. NOOOO  ! Tempest
  3. Correct, as G-Laders prefer cold damp air ... :) Tempest
  4. Yup, they fitted on straight away. Got them for approx £23 from Autostylin, have a look here Tempest
  5. @RobyD: Why not come around, and we'll try my Momo and boss on yours. My boss is the late (fine spilined) type, haven't got the codes here (at work, all the bosses at home). Or alternatively, I'll take the wheel with me on Sunday, if you're coming to the Midlands meet in Leicester. Tempest
  6. Yup, got a US G60 as well, clear side markers can be taken from a BMW E28. Pictures of the orange E28 markers can be found on my homepage: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/eric.coolen/mk3.html, haven't gotten round to updating the pics yet, now that I've got the clear ones on. Then there are also some self-made ones available from a mate of mine in Germany, not sure whether he still does 'm. They resemble the original VW side markers. Tempest

    ETKA

Just to be a spoil fun: Copies of ETKA are illegal, Lexicon (or whatever the company is called that make 'm), can and will sue if caught. AFAIK, there is now a end-user "cheap" version available, but that's not for free. Sorry, but ETKA issues can be dangerous. Tempest
  8. Same over in NL and D, prices going up, governments doing zip, nada, we need a revolution, as the OPEC/governments/petrol companies all realise that we're willing to take A LOT of pain. When will we stop driving cars? Ask yourself just that question ... Tempest
  9. Sorry Jim, but needed the whole weekend to pack the Rocco for Wednesday when I'm off to Roadstar 2004 :D Still mot finished yet, more shopping tomorrow. Oh, and washed the Rado  Pictures looking good, shame about the weather, another reason why I didn't go, in all honesty  Tempest
  10. What did they do then, set the timing or something? Tempest
  11. The VR6 sunvisor does it for me, MOT here I come  Tempest
  12. Yeah, I'm also raving mad at the sh**te weather at the mo', seems like we're wasting the nice long days with nothing but rain  I'll have to consider moving to sunnier climes  First fit on mine wasn't either, but a little moving around solved that withoug having to dremel the fixing holes :) Both units on each side are nice and flush now. Working on that one ... Tempest
  13. I hope not, as it would make those that have converted less unique  Tempest
  14. Right: As Kev already mentioned don't cut anything from your Rado wiring loom (leave the Rado connector where it is), just stick on some blue spade connectors onto the In.Pro wires, then following the table below connect the lot: Function: Rado-wire In.Pro wire rear light left grey/black green brake light left black/red green/red indicator left black/white green/yellow earth brown white/black rear light right grey/red green brake light right black/red green/red indicator right black/green green/yellow earth brown white/black HTH, Tempest
  15. Jim: Got some time this Saturday? Could have a look at it (depending on what I'm doing with my Dad around then ...). PM me ... Tempest
  16. You should get 10 V minimum with the ignition switched on. If your wiring is OK, then it could be the Digifant ECU. Tempest
  17. @ woody: Good to hear! I suppose I will have to make an effort now and turn up o Inters to admire all your new shiny In.Pros (compared to mine, which have been on my Rado for almost 2 months ...). Anyone else had theirs, problems etc. lemme know, and I'll see what I can sort out, after I've finished drooling over that particular article in this month's VWm magazine :) Tempest
  18. Excellent, well, OK, not so excellent, what I meant is that we've found the 2 swapped units :) So, could "woody" and "corradokid" (real names hidden for data protection act reasons malarky ...) possibly get into touch with each other to sort out the swap over? Any other probs, folks? Otherwise, if the others are starting to get theirs lemme know and happy fitting :D Tempest
  19. If anyone else has a wrong set, let me know asap, and I'll email Heiko. Maybe if someone else has got a smoked set and wanted the clear/red set (there was only 1 person wanting a clear/red set) you could swap? Then there's still Inters, where Heiko will be selling more In.Pros. I myself won't be at Inters this year, as it's too close to Roadstar over in the Netherlands, for which I'm leaving the following Wednesday (apart from having my Dad visit me for 2 weeks from Germany ...) Tempest
  20. Well chaps, if you go out and buy this month's VWM, ignore that funny looking dude on page 42 (42 of all as well  ) Just enjoy the Mk1 Rocco :D Tempest
  21. Ja, lasst mir bloss den Jim in Ruhe, sonst gibt's einen auf die Rübe  . Oops, sorry, wrong forum or language. Anyway, Jim, translation, please :D Other than that, I think it's once again a typical case of "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence", there is no perfect country on this planet. Anyone tried some other planets yet? Tempest
  22. I do like those wheels, C. Will Corrado G60 2, nice dish-pattern, bit like the Brocks on my Storm. That's also what I wouldn't mind having on my Rado, but in 7 or 8x16, as I have once again been pointed out by those that were in Malvern, how "common as muck" my BK299s are on Rados  Tempest
  23. Tried VW? Your local breakers might still have the original (mine seems to have quite a few). Have fun taking the headliner out to access the screws underneath ... Tempest
  24. Exactly. Germany anyone? No speed limits on the motorways, drove there last Xmas, loooovely !!! But then again: rising unemployment rates, Siemens kicking out 3000-4000 employees, rising prices (including fuel  ), car theft on the rise, all going to former Eastern European countries, harsh MOT-rules, stupid tax system (well, for non-catted Rados :) ), ... then again, most things are still cheaper over there, cups of tea, petrol ... Tempest
  25. Whilst you're right on that statement, it's not right if you've taken out special insurance with agreed valuation (which normal mortals with normal shopping trolley cars, i.e. 90% of the population, wouldn't do, but then again, they wouldn't need to) to cover your baby, to then have some pr*ck assessor come out and make statements like "The repair on the rear bumper is no different than on a Ford Mondeo", the bumper being a customised Rieger item, the rear panel no longer made!! Says a lot about these assessors  Do get a medical checkup, Migs, as far as your knee is concerned. What if you will get problems years down the line, as a result of this accident, and you haven't been to a doctor now, no insurance is going to pay then. That's why I immediately went to see all sorts of doctors following my rear-ender. Just a tip ... It's an all-traumatising experience, and the opponent usually doesn't even realise it, "It's just a car, innit, mate?" Tempest
