Yeah not bad, called in a favour, just need to find new centers. Anyone recommend good tyres?

Uniroyal Rainsport 2 or 3's. Great tyres.

Got my corrado back from the garage for the final time before I sell her. So gave her a nice wash and replaced the rear number plate plynth as the one one the car was cracked. Just got to Hoover out tomorrow before getting some more pics and off on the internet she goes

I have the same problem. The job appears easy but I have failed after repeated attempts.

Picked my Corrado up from the alloy refurbishment shop this morning, all 4 original Speedlines done in OEM silver, plus 2 new front tyres. 3 were buckled and have been corrected. They look lovely...a recommend for MyAlloys in Basingstoke, did a great job.

Just the centre caps to clean up now.

Its filthy, there's a scrape along the drivers door below the rubstrip, photos do lie. It is a solid example (ex IOM so no road salt corrosion underneath) and now back on its speedlines with new toyos. Tax is in the post :)

Painted all four brake calipers and back plates with good old smooth Hammerite, look so much better now, fed up of seeing the rusty calipers through the Speedlines.

Sprayed the plastic manifold cover silver for now.

Then next week end, will be sprucing up the car for Elsecar Mega Meet.

:thumbleft:

It is very fiddly indeed. what attempts have you tried?

I couldnt find a diagram of the linkage in the bentley manual either :(

I did have the thought last night that maybe a clever use of blue tack gaffer tape might be worth a try - blue tack round the part which goes into the hole & in the hole itself (just to steady it) & then strong gaffer tape to secure it better

I just tried to figure it out myself which obviously failed. The annoying thing is that it came of of it's own accord with out any prompting.

Took the VR for it's first fun for four years to the MOT garage. I took the long route naturally. Also collected my MK Golf from the bodyshop where I also treated it to paintless dent removal for the slight imperfections in three of the panels. The Golf feels so basic in comparison, it's still good fun though.

Took the car out to head down to the beach and blew the rad hose that feeds the turbo. Currently sat at the side of the A38 waiting to be recovered. Hoping no damage has been done as I was taking it easy and there was still a small amount of water coming out once pulled over.

Made emergency repairs to an exhaust clamp that decided to snap last night.

All done now and test drive on some twisties to cheer myself up.

Full exterior polish and trim detailing.

Attempted to remove & re-spray the rear badges following the repair shop helpfully kicking them around a work shop floor for four weeks. Found they had used the badge clips I gave them and also some glue. This resulted in serious rage, and a broken script badge :(

Found a minor (she says) oil leak, the sump is covered, I guess from driving, but the amount on the ground over 12 hours was tiny.

Seeking some specialist advice in the local area tomorrow, something I'd have done sooner if she hadn't been sat in a repair shop for four weeks. If anyone knows of anyone in the Beds, Herts area worth checking out let me know.

Read some great restoration threads on here. Panicked. Turns out the corrado of my dreams was better than actually having one on my driveway... At least she's shiney :D

went to go out this morning and had funny noises from clutch or gearbox.

So turned round and started to remove gearbox. Have a spare box so will fit that. Has been making noises for a while.

Undid a few more bolts today. All unplanned. Hoping to drive it to work on Tuesday.

How is that ever going to be ready for Monday night, if it will can you come and finish mine on Tuesday?

Yesterday actually, cleaned sump and oil pickup. Refitted with gasket. After doing a fair bit of work on it after the head gasket issues I hope to put oil in today and fire it up. Fingers crossed that this is it for engine issues. Next electrics and the new wheels can go on. Hopefully some meets this summer
