Asking "has anyone got an opinion on.." on this forum is like asking if the pope's catholic! :)

Theres a silver one in Newquay , looks great, in the summer it wears polished Porsche Design 90's and it looked awesome, it's back on standard alloys now but still looks great in my eyes, nicely lowered too.

going for a lupo isn't sensible mate.

They are lovely cars esp the GTI but have you seen the size of them? The borrowers sold their Lupo as it was so small!

seriously, I am sure it would be comfy is for a couple of people, but where are you going to put things like random stuff like shopping etc.

Get yourself a reasonable SEAT Leon (nothing giddy, TDI or summat) and atleast then know it is cheaper and with increased practicality. If you compromise too much you'll miss the rado even more!

All IMHO :D

Later

Andrew

Think i'd sooner go for a Leon, they have really grown on me the last few months, especially in black.. infact do they come in other colours?!

Lupo GTI write up on MSN:

The tiny Lupo hasn’t sold well at all, through being overpriced and undersized. But when you consider the GTI’s brilliance, that’s a travesty. Here is a micro-sized car with 125bhp twin-cam 1.6-litre that revs sky-high, for 60mph in 8.3 seconds. It’s quick, particularly later models with a six-speed gearbox that helps keep the revs up. It’s also tremendous fun through the corners – far better, more agile and more chuckable than you’d expect. And it has the specialist touch, with unique aluminium doors, wheelarches and bonnet. There are even standard Xenon lights, for piercing midnight B-road blasts.

Great little cars, but they are really little! Bit pricey too, for what they are. I'd defo go down the Ibiza/Leon/Octavia vRS  route if you want to stay VAG.

Had a Lupo GTI for a couple of days when they first came out. Absolutely brilliant fun and you can't help but rev them all the way :norty: and come out of the car with a huge grin across your face!

Only problem with Lupos is that they need to go around in groups so they don't get picked on by the bigger cars; that and they only come in fruut pastel flavoured colours. :)

They do look like nice cars but isn't the SEAT Aroza 1.4 16v the same car?

Lupo GTI is a great car, have a mean, wide, squat stance on the road. When you see one which is not very often you have to look.

I have a mate with a 1.4 Sport (also centre exhaust) 100bhp and it shifts for a small engine. I can vouch for its solid build quality.

I believe they are built on the same chassis as the polo so the choice is yours. Do you want a boot? Perhaps polos are cheaper to buy as they are more common. I saw one privately for sale in west London the other week in nice condition for under 5K.

I am also tempted to become more 'cost effective' but the drop in outright muscle from a VR to 4 cylinder does scare me and for you you would miss that wierd droney noise of the G-lader :(
