Jay, think you need to give a presentation to the crowds. Would save you a lot of repetatition, which invariably will give you more beer tent time

Have to agree Jim, there do seem to be a lot of Corrados being built for this show, but then again there are a lot of Golfs being done too... its going to be awesome. Show stealer....mmmmm? Not sure about that, but thanks!

Randal - LOL. I think I might put a board up with a detailed description of whats been done, as most of the complex stuff you can't see!!

Randal - LOL, funny thing is, thats basically what my job is! :)

Biggerbigneil - Cheers, I just hope people appreciate the workings that are underneath the leather and the engine...... still I guess the people who are at these shows generally know what they are looking at!

I have just spent the whole of my lunchtime reading this 38 page thread, and although the majority of the technical stuff went over my head i can certainly appreciate and respect the amount of effort that has been put in. Its an absolutely amazing car and considering 99% of it has been done by yourself (retrimming) i would be the most chuffed person in the world! You should create your own website with pics and info on the progress in order, but i shouldnt imagine you have that much time with such a loverly motor to finish.

See http://www.dubland.co.uk for the holding page.. should have a site up before E38 with Jays corrado on it plus mine and others in the Coupehaus massive !

Keep an eye on the site next week  8)

Shaggsy - Blimey, thanks for reading it all! :)

I would love to do a web page of everything, but I don't know how (yet) and I do so many mods I would spend as much time writing about them as doing them. This forum is perfect for me as it gives me an easy way of posting up my progress for people, like yourself to read. Hopefully it gives people ideas and info on how to do different jobs and as and when I can I will put up more info on each task.

As Ben said a few of us have formed a little group under the title "CoupeHaus". The website is coming together and you will definately see our 6 cars at ED38. My Corrado 24v V6, Bens Corrado 1.8T 4WD, Dougs Corrado V5, Pauls race MK2, Nicks retro MK2 and Giles' smooth MK3. Come over and say hello! :)

Got my custom adaptors yesterday for my new wheels. They were made in the workshop at work, so I owe the guys there big time!! :) They are hard clear anodised aircraft grade aluminium, with alochromed threads, which have then been helicoiled, they weigh litterally nothing and are more than capable of the job.

Just need to get the tyres on the wheels now....... but you will have to wait till Friday next week to see the wheels on the finished car. :) :p

keep digging that hole Dom...!

Jay, have to say that your car is gonne be one of the ones I scrutinise very closely at E38, really cannot wait to see it, and Ben's, in the metal... I remember seeing it at NR in Guildford a couple of years ago and you were telling myself and Phil K how you'd managed to trade up to the Porsche splits without actually really spending any money!

Definitely a candidate for rado of the year...

gradeAfailure - Feel free to have a good close look. Hopefully people will and they will appreciate the work that has gone into the car and not just see some bling! :)

"Definitely a candidate for rado of the year... " Well I am flattered thank-you.

I will post up pictures of the finished car the day before ED38, just so people know which car it is! :)

Well the new wheels are on and fit like a treat. I will post pictures when the whole car is finished on Thursday.

I have spent the day modifying the a-pillar trims to make them flare out and meet the TT dash, as the sides have quite a different shape. They have come out better than I thought they would and look about as factory as I could expect I guess.

Busy day tomorrow, modifying the headlining to accomodate the MK4 interior lights and alarm sensors. Then I hope to trim it in matching cream leather next week, if the hide finally arrives in the post...
