n3p 3 Posted May 25, 2014 Separate to the national day thread, some pics of mine from the show. Managed to fit the Recaros in yesterday after getting them back from the trimmer. Still think they padded too much just below the headrest but they have grown on me. And yes, I need new mats! Very surprised to have won a trophy too, even with my amber indicators! Billzeebub 1 Posted May 25, 2014 Love your car Nick. The perfect example of OEM plus, pretty much what I wish VW had done with the Corrado rather than killing it. All the hard work has definitely paid off. Congratulations on the trophy

Goldie 2 Posted May 26, 2014 Surprised to win a trophy???? Paint work, wheels, unreal interior and a turbo conversion…Sounds like you have put the work in and deserve it..
Jim 2 Posted May 26, 2014 You have to remember too that it's not about having the most concours car, or the cleanest engine bay.. the whole idea behind the National Day show and shine (as we put on the voting form) is simply 'which Corrado you like the most' - for whatever reason that might be. As Goldie says, some really nice OEM plus type touches, lovely paintwork, and a perfect drop on great wheels - it's no wonder it was a popular choice :)
mic_VR 3 Posted May 26, 2014 Looks amazing, not surprised it won a trophy at all. Stunning! Are you running arch liners? Looks so low!

n3p 3 Posted May 26, 2014 Wow, thank you all for your kind words - it may not be concours, but I'm glad you like the car :). I almost didn't go to the national day as my father sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago, but I'm glad I decided to suck it up and get buffing! Still very shocked that I won, didn't expect to even be in contention... Chris/Matt it was my pleasure to take you for a spin in it - I hope that the turbo didn't disappoint! Mic - nothing removed, just silly tyres  Also, went to Motorsport at Palace today. Unfortunately I didn't stay too long as I was still pretty tired from the National Day, and the fact that there was a lot of rain which affected the attendance - was all a bit quiet really. Still, I enjoyed catching up with some others and thanks to Ron for organising. Couple of snaps, and some non corrado content!: And something a bit different. Actually quite refreshing to see the 90s style look now! I didn't spot the owner to ask what those turbines were. Surely not turbos?! Nick
clumpy1 11 Posted May 26, 2014 You have shown some strength of character there Nick I know I wouldn't have been able to do that I still think of my Dad and it's nearly 13years since he passed. Please accept my deepest Condolences. Your car may not be Concours but it's not all about that Concours is for some but not all your car anyone on here would have in a heartbeat :salute: Keep it up ;)

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 26, 2014 Ahh the Oettinger 8x17s on the car to the right of yours, they bring back memories! I think a couple of sets of those did the rounds on the forum some years back. Heavy, but nice! I don't really care about your car or your recent achievements. I just thought I'd drop my little trip down memory lane in there! Only kidding :D Love the Double Din work and the cup holder. I never thought either were possible when I had my Rado, but you've shown it can be done and look OEM in the process. Kudos my man! You're a bad man. I thought my Corrado days were numbered, but this is all inspiring me to hunt down the mintest Ice Grey in the country and dust off my turboing gloves again. ChrisL 20 Posted May 26, 2014 Congrats on the win Nick, it certainly was deserved. You've started with the best Corrado (classic green storm) and just improved everything, I was really impressed with the interior as it looked completely stock and the wheels really suit the car. The turbo installation is far more descrete then I was expecting. Can I put my name down for a spin in it next time I see you please?
