P.,s 30 year time served advanced scaffolder  and went on to start up a scaffolding business 15 years ago  its a risk V reward industry.

Aha - a dark horse then. me, 10 years in music and kitchens and then 20 in IT security and networking - still struggle, but I think that has to do with keeping all the mouths fed and having too many hobbies/interests for my own good.

I'd try the scaffolding, but while I'm not afraid of heights per se I hate standing near edges.....

See it now - for some reason assumed the link was to the shop selling it. Looks great, you must be chuffed - is the illumination adjustable or controlled by the dash dimmer? I want one now just to have, so I can then buy a car to put it into!

You can adjust colour and light I believe- because its a Mk2 golf I had to splice into the heat dial illumination to make the loom the same as a corrado. Mate buy one at the day it combines the old with modern tech - what more could you want for a headunit - dab will be the only one eventually.

Not yet but im 100 percent fitting them with the front bumper off just in case they snag - also the seller asked what else shall I make and I told him we would all buy a sunroof repair kit - that would be a good thing to have spare in your parts for sure.

Its great many parts are seemingly been manufactured by small businesses and in some cases the parts been upgraded- still pleny of improvement for body repair panels though and sunroof

Another shockingly hard part to find is the sensor on the crank for a VR- engines are becoming very thin on the ground remember a load of these have been nicked for mk1 and mk2 conversions.,

Sorry this is a rant at Heritage so scroll on if you dont want a headache ha.

Ordered spoonfed spoiler on the 4th August and they debited my account for £299.00 - - just got an email today saying we have your spoiler and you need to pay again - have had to send them statements and everything to prove the money left my account and stayed with them- their accounting and customer service is beyond a joke - proper bunch of amateurs- still not confirmed yet they have the money and all ready been on the phone at least 4 times with them over the last four months - its as simple as this, they say they dont have the money and you say- so if it left my account and has not been refunded on the statement and the statement lists you as been the receiver it has it just fell into a black hole- then ? sorry rant over but they are seriously incompetent.  I could drop a couple of names here of staff which im not going to do but if you get them just hang up on them as they will cause you issues.

VW Heritage I suggest you bring in some professionals to  organise your accounting processes and bring a platform that works without causing your clients unnecessary stress , phone calls and emails , delays !  If something is not in stock do not take peoples money and hoard it for months on end - also if something says it is in stock and it is not then dont list it as that- bread and butter of an internet shop.

Also not open Saturday morning what is that all about you are in the Motor Industry and folks day off and alike today not even anyone to answer the phone for me to tell you got my money now send me that spoiler you messes. So stop going down Bournemouth beach on a Saturday and open up shop you Beach Bums as most of us are industrial rats ha.

Do you mean the crank position sensor that sits on the front of the block near the oil filter? There are loads of cheap copies around, but the part is exactly the same on the Ford Galaxy VR6, so shouldn't be an issue getting one.

That sounds like terrible customer service. especially when dealing with enthusiasts.

TBH, never been that impressed with them, really just a reseller for Classic Parts (which really should be available through the dealer network), and I've has some issues in the past with delays and quality - the really annoying thing is that they are now selling sh*tty spurious parts without really pointing this out - it will only lead to trouble - at least GSF used to give you and option of the quality level you wanted to buy when there was more than one available, and had it listed in the description. I'd rather a "specialist" site not stock an item rather than sell you a crap one that needs to be replaced several times over or is dead on arrival. And most of the parts where this applies can be sourced with a little effort, especially for a company like Heritage, it's just that they are afraid they won't be able to sell them as they are more expensive.

Rant over - having said all that, Heritage have got me out of a good few holes over the years, and it's nice to have them as an option. I would have bought direct from SF and paid the taxes and import, and I always prefer dealing direct with Classic Parts in Germany if I can.

Chap there is a sensor inside the block on the cam that is round . its not the crank , knock or cam sensor that houses into the block its actually an internal sensor.  021 905 163

Ah ok - never seen that before - it looks like it is the magnet/coil that sits on the camshaft and generates a signal for the cam or hall sensor - have never heard of anyone needing one of these.  Would be the same part on a Ford though, so that might be worth checking out.

Its all sorted now and they apologized but totally agree with your comments above - they need to up there game big time - getting delivered Monday so hopefully get it painted whilst the can is open at the paint shop .

There actually one of the hardest parts to find for a Corrado VR6 and there is no aftermarket version - they are starting to go wrong and hell you aint going to get one for shite- best chance is to buy the cam with he sensor housed into it. Stealth says they are a big issue now.

So Keyo, you're happy with the MGR parts? I was thinking of ordering a few things a while back but wasn't sure.

That part: 021 905 163. I'll check here if it's available and if it is, I'll fix the problem!

Cheers

Hi ABV, yes chap seems very good quality - I have not installed yet but pretty sure they will be fine- all the parts are obsolete so thought I would purchase them more for spares if needed and got discount for bulk buy. He discounts for group buy.

That Heritage rant has just reminded me. I ordered the foam bonnet filler pieces months ago and I've never received them! I've always had decent service with Heritage previously. Speak to Anna on here, she'll sort it out for you.

That is one of the issues mate- if a part is obsolete they still have it  for sale and take the money - says something like soon to be available but they are not and still take money and then loose track of the payment. I also had a front bonnet seal from a Golf and just gave up in the end and purchased one from classics.  In other words they are advertising stock from classics that even they do not have in stock ie like your filler pieces I presume and took your money with no evidence they are going to supply them - all these issues arrived when they updated their website. Also when you order classics parts through them they do not send you an email receipt for payment so very easy to forget your order- I reckon there are quite a few orders I have let slip by not making a personal recording myself of transactions with them.

Let me know how you get on with those Sean, as they last told me they were obsolete.

Keyo I get your frustration and I am sure they will sort this out. I wouldn't want to lose VW Heritage as a supplier and middle person for us. Anna has been a massive help for the forum and for pushing to get parts remade for us.

If I don't like a brand of part they have, I shop elsewhere. But someone must buy those items.!

99.5% of the time I have had great help and service from them.

Santa will sort this for xmas 🎅😇

Anyone else got cable ties securing the plug into to rad fan motor ??? - mine was good but a mechanic must of broke the securing tabs at one point. My fan works fine and cable ties secure well tbf . I want to keep the Bosch unit or get a new one at some point. Looking at options seems to be a Hella fan and Valeo.  I believe its the tabs on the fan motor that are broke not the plug ?

Can you change the fan shroud off without taking off the front bumper and slam panel- very easy to change on a Mk2. 5 minute job
