  1. No worries Dazz, you can have the panel, post me the clips and we're even if you can pick it up! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  2. Fold it in half, to be honest it's only the clips I need anyway! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  3. I'll have it if you don't mind posting it! PM me with payment details including posting to Swansea. Ta
  4. Beautifully restored and modified car mate, a real tribute to the work you've clearly put in. It's difficult to value the effort you put in to that kind of project but I would guess whoever buys that car is getting a real bargain. If only I could persuade my wife that we don't really need the extension we just started building!!!!!! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. Just take it up to 6K revs for a while and watch the lights get smaller and smaller until eventually they disappear! Just kidding! A speeding fine and a row is much better than the other possibilities!
  6. What you need is a nice VR6 Daz, that way we might make it to the national next year! (Lights blue touch paper and bravely runs away)[emoji23] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. In fairness, the oil temperature seems bang on, having read what everyone has said I'm going to stop worrying about it and just keep an eye on the oil temp. Sounds as though if that's right then all else seems good!
  8. Thanks for that everyone, I feel less worried now. My initial concern about the stat fendervg was that the engine may be "overcooling" if the stat was stuck open. I don't know if this even possible but thought it seemed plausible! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. Nope, the cooling system had no issues and was left unchanged when they did mine. does that mean something else needs changing then or is this normal?
  10. My VR6 has just had an engine rebuild so I've been paying more attention than usual to the coolant and oil temperatures displayed by the MFA, the car is running beautifully, on a long run yesterday the oil temperature never went over 104, even when pushed hard but the water temperature never seems to go much over 80 which seems on the low side to me, the fans do stay on for a few minutes after engine shutdown but nothing excessive. Is it indicative of a fault that the water temperature stays so low and as the car is certainly not overheating am I just worrying uneccesarily?
  11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-SUNROOF-REPLACEMENT-PANEL-/391842236257?hash=item5b3b9e0761:g:Mh4AAOSwXcRZbgqp REALLY??? £150 for a sunroof panel! I have one here in black that you can have for £20 plus postage, come to think of it I also have a golf MK3 moon roof you can have for the same deal and two of the cassette frames (frames only) that you could have for £10 each but I wouldn't know how to post them!
  12. Yeah, now it has a show champion reputation to live up to you can never be seen with it needing a clean ever again! That's a really good turnout, I was impressed to see 4 in Brecon today, I haven't seen any other than my own for the last 2 years so I was really happy. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  13. I've just seen this thread for the first time and had a good chuckle, sod a pension, just buy a second hand VR6 and break it for parts.....sorted!!! I've been stockpiling broken sun roof cassettes ever since the stock market crash!!!!!! F@#* Gordon Gecko! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. We had 4 turn up for Volksfest Wales today, great day but spoiled a little by poor weather, how many turned up at the national? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Mine was a couple of months tax away from the scrapyard in the sky when I bought her, I was amazed I got her home from Saffron Walden to Swansea. A few years and erm, quite a lot of work and an absolute bucketful of money later I have a drivable classic with a lot less work required doing than it did when I started. The point for me is that I'm enjoying the journey, it's not about the theoretical destination of a "finished project" more an evolving one. I love my Corrado and as I've said a few times today it's about the feeling I get when I'm driving and when I get out and lock her, I always look back over my shoulder as I walk away for one more look at her. There will always be "one more job" that needs doing but that's what I want, it's not A N Other plastic eurobox that will get me from A to B feeling much the same as if I'd been on public transport. To me she's a living breathing thing with a soul and you have to nurture her to get the best out of her. The cost of nurturing her is purely a matter of affordability, as it's my intention to never sell her it's otherwise irrelevant. If I were owning the Corrado for an appreciating asset it would have been incredibly silly to spend so much money nurturing her as in order to make a profit I would have to get an eye watering sale price already. 16. Does anybody have a spare VR6 engine cover and the black plastic slot guides for the ignition leads, preferably with the screws to fix them down? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. Momentous day in Wales today, I finally spotted some other Corrado's. Okay it was at Volksfest Wales but still there were 4 of us, all in the same field, and I got to meet Dazz_g60_wales and his Mrs too! Great day for me! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. Surely there must be a way of locating and bypassing the damaged part, I'm no expert but as VEEDUBBED has said, it must be easier than changing an entire loom? Would Vagcom identify the fault? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. They no longer stock the set they had, likewise VW classic parts is a no too! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  20. I tried everywhere I could think of a couple of weeks ago, got them from a breakers on eBay in the end by emailing a few and asking who had some! His eBay name was mx-sean Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  21. Does the spoiler come up when you get to 55? [emoji3] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  22. There's only 71 of these left, I remember pushing one in the 1980's! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  23. I had a guards red Porsche 944 S2 convertible for five years, sold it in 2006 because I wasn't really driving it enough at the time, nice ones have tripled in value since then. I put the money towards my black 3 door mk5 GTi which I bought new. When it was 4 weeks old a numpty going the wrong way through a no entry hit my front end, the repairs were terrible in the insurance company's recommended garage and after a lot of arguing I ended up paying myself to have the repairs redone elsewhere. I never felt the same about it after that and sold it as a 2 year old car with 13.5k on the clock. Looking back that Golf should have stayed, it had loads of nice upgrades and once I had the work redone it was mint [emoji25] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  24. Nope, VEEDUBBED lives in Rome and has left hand drive parts. No one got any parts from the thread and there was certainly no intention to hijack anything anyway. I hope you're having better luck finding them than me!
  25. Probably much easier if you have a ramp! I've just spent an hour on the floor under a jacked up front end hoping the jack doesn't fail. Mines got standard suspension too, I can't imagine how bad it is for those with lowered cars! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
