1. Nice find:cool: Newton commercial do some cheap kits but nothing like original... Just for reference, Early VS Late.:thumbleft:
2. Saw this previously, caught my eye as I've always fancied another Red one... Noticed the missing front wing trims, orange peel, and overspray on the tyre, but If it's just because of the little ding in the arch then fair enough. Seems to be a tad on the heavy side price wise, but could be a good thing to see them start bringing a little more money. Do like it...
3. Well... I fitted all the air ride around two years ago I think but never got around to fitting the height sensors as above. In that time the car has been off the road for most of it, probably covered less than 100 miles. Anyway, been up to my unit many times getting on with the job of fitting the height sensors, and using the air ride to check heights etc. I also bought the I-Level in the meantime and hooked that up, all fine. Went up there the other week, and my Touchpad controller is not lighting up at all, and is doing nothing when pressing any buttons. Checked to see if the I-Level was working on my phone and it wouldn't connect...Nothing. After lots of head scratching, checking wires, fuses, power supply with a tester, unplugging things, plugging them back in etc...The I-Level just suddenly connected. But yet my touchpad is still completely dead. Pretty damn disappointed and p|ssed off that I've virtually never even had the chance to properly use the air ride and yet it's died on me (Seems the Accuair ECU has taken a sh|t). Especially as I couldn't really afford to buy the recent i-level... So the cars just been sat there on axle stands since, now rendered undrivable. Just pretending it doesn't exist at the minute, kinda wish it didn't. Could do with my unit disappearing along with all the parts and cars in it. Too much hassle, stress, time and effort.
4. Have you fitted a wider charger timing belt? Is the belt catching anything? Is the serp belt catching anything? If you spin the charger relay rollers (x2 of them) do they sound OK? As far as the charger timing...As long as the top and bottom ends are both vertically aligned to each other (Looking face on) it should be OK. Note that you don't use any pulley marks to align, but the two sprockets, but I'm sure you know that. Neil.
5. Which model of Corrado?:thumbleft: Neil.
6. Those are a good shout mate:thumbleft: Also worth looking at your brake lines (Hard and soft) while on with the job, front top mounts/wishbone bushes etc. I can recommend getting hold of as many air ride fittings as you can too, push fits etc... Just back from my unit again, had to come home because of 'lighting' issues and my knee is spazzing out! Anyway, lots more measuring done and some brackets made. These will attach to the lower rear strut mounting point. After having made them I found that they had some 'wobble' side to side which meant that the sensors were also moving up/down...No good for accuracy. So I've put a fold in them as can be seen in the pic (Only one done in pic). Not ideal, but with limited tools/no welding skills it's the best I can manage in all honesty... Will get more pics sorted so you can see exactly what I mean. But basically the ball stud you see will have a threaded bar which will attach to the sensor (Mounted on inner arch). When suspension is up, the sensor is at the bottom of its travel. And of course, when the suspension is down, the sensor is at the top of its travel. Neil.
7. Well...New toy to accompany the air ride. Accuair I-Level. Getting it up and running has been easy peasy...But I've been trying to properly finally finish the air ride by fitting the E-Level height sensors and OMG, absolute nightmare! I'd honestly rather do the heater matrix again! The instructions presume that you have a simple swinging arm rear end, where everything aligns nicely. But we know that's not the case with the Corrado! The measurements are critical so that the sensors aren't damaged (Over extended) and that they read over as wide a sweep as possible. You have to aim for 2.75" of travel on the sensor, adjusted by moving closer to, or further away from the rear beam pivot point, but wherever I tried it (Just putting marks and measuring) it just didn't ever get anywhere near enough. Not helped by the fact that the inner arch runs away from the beam...All sorts of silly angles to consider! After months of searching I haven't found a single picture of the e-level sensors fitted to a Corrado, mk1 or mk2 golf! There's just no easy way to mount them on the rear, but after literally three days I think I'm getting somewhere...Have made up some brackets to mount to the bottom strut bolt. And that's where I'm up to. Haven't even bothered to look at the fronts yet! I nearly threw the towel in a few times on the whole car game tbh while trying to sort these sensors! Wondering if I was getting too old for it all, knees and back killing crawling under the car, freezing cold, p|ssing about with an ol' banger! But seems I'm still going for now...
8. Looks superb mate!:thumbleft: Gutted for you about the tosser driving into it!
9. Hi mate,

In all honesty it's been a while since I changed mine, but...

One roller just has a single bolt, and the other is Nut/Bolt. The tensioner arm does indeed just hang loose. I don't remember any difficulty as such, maybe just a little contortionist movement for the one with the nut lol.

As for torque setting, I just went with a good nip with a little thread lock, as the bolts/nuts from factory were self locking (Had factory thread lock applied)

Hope that helps. Feel free to throw me any pics etc if you get stuck.

Neil.

10. Very easy to do:thumbleft: Ease the tension on the belt by whatever means you see fit. (I have a tool built by a mate/think he has a couple left). You can use a large jubilee or a ratchet strap on the charger belt tensioner, or just remove the tensioner (Carefully) if you don't have the tools. The rollers have a black cover that 'pops' off with the help of a screwdriver. Remove caps, remove bolts. Fit new rollers, refit bolts. Refit plastic covers. Refit belt. Job done. Neil. :thumbleft:
11. Pete, luckily I've now found one in my stash! Thanks. (If only I could find my damn air ride level sensor as easily!). Stone, it would be rude not throw you a PM regards those. Neil.
12. Welcome, looks good! You can get little bits of loom such as the injector rail harness etc from various places, but larger parts would be hard to come by new. Neil.
13. Haha, those are spot on! Not a joke as such, but true?
14. That would be great cheers Pete:thumbleft: Neil.
15. As title. I'm after a drivers side fog light unit. Late style, and with knackered, damaged, smashed glass. Everything else must be fine though, tabs etc. As cheap as possible please! Bearing in mind I bought one a while ago for a tenner, and recently nearly bought a pair for £25 but the tabs was later found to be damaged. You'd be helping get my ol' G60 back on the road. Neil.
16. There's never been a RHD G60 specific set that I know of unfortunately. EDIT: I wonder if after all these years it would be worth approaching somebody like Venair or similar about production? Neil.
17. I'd give you a medal if I could if you've read the lot I sometimes try and find something to refer to it in the topic and it's a bloody nightmare lol. Just ordered something for it to try and push/force the enthusiasm back! An addition to complete the air ride. Real snap decision to buy it as the money tree is empty! Neil.
18. There are late G60's, basically VR6 shell, and lot's of other small differences :thumbleft: PS: Is the seller still around? Hasn't replied for a while? Interested in pics of the intercooler if still available. Neil.
19. I guess a good question is...What sort of project were you and your son looking for? It's worth £200 all day long if it's a runner either way. But maybe your project could revolve around restoring it back to a valver? And as you're of the old skool (Me too deep down) maybe even throw some 45 webers on it too:thumbleft: You could sell the G60 running gear to fund it? Neil.
20. Mat, check out the last pic at http://www.corradog60.com/viewtopic.php?t=47 Same applies to the rear bumper regards the trim line. On the front bumper, the very edge of the later spec (After the trim line) are deeper than early style as well, to line up with the wider front wings of later cars. I'd have considered these if I wasn't at the other end of the country. (Don't have much faith in couriers!) Neil.
21. No worries mate, no email come through though? Sent you a PM anyway.:thumbleft: Neil.
22. Hi Alan, Just out of interest are they G60 or SLC (VR6) spec? G60 will have a trim line that curls up on the ends, SLC will have trim line that just fades out in a straight line.
23. Cheers Sanksy! JMC, you've done a cracking job with yours mate, lot's of time and money so no doubt you do feel similar. I've got to a point where I often think, what's the point of it sitting there? But I think I've come to accept that I can't actually afford to sell mine, that's what I'm telling myself anyway  Trying to get my head back on it, and going to be doing the odd job if I can get focused on it again. I don't think the enthusiasm will be like it used to be...The 'Scene' has changed now, not that I mind... I like that they are becoming more a grown up 'classic' and all the newer Vw stuff is getting the HellaStanceWhateverItIs. Be a shame if you did let yours go, but I suppose you have to do what you 'feel' is right.:thumbleft:
24. These words! The words of many a Corrado owner?
