  1. Jim, I seem to be living my life at a slower pace since getting the Audi (or the hearse as my mates have named it) especially when going around bends  Seriously though, for a standard estate I am very pleased with it, It is the 1.8 turbo sport model so that helps. The engine is very good but sounds so boring compared to the G60. I'm just waiting for AMD to finish their new one-click chip. Should be on the right side of 200 bhp then :D
  2. Jim, The car was always allowed to warm up properly before giving it any stick, If I had kept the car longer it would of had another rebuild but I was planning on getting Darren to do it instead of Jabba. I wouldnt worry too much about a rebuild, did you see the cost of my first two visits to TSR? It also spent a week in Grant Motorsport having all th Powerflex bushes fitted (expensive) along with the full brake upgrade and the first chip & pulley and suspension set-up (koni + H&R) Anyway, there shouldnt be any splits in the charger/intercooler hosing as it was all checked before fitting and new jubilee clips were used all round. The hose on the FPR was replaced during fitting and a replacement ISV hose was used when the boost return system was refitted. I dont think the ISV leaks as I used to have aBahn Brenner ISV reroute kit and it made no difference that I noticed. Hope this helps you, Rob.
  3. The clear one comes with a remote gain control too :!:
  4. All you need to do is use some sticky back velcro on the four feet and mount it on the boot carpet, it wont move anywhere. I had mine fitted this way for over a year without problems and I think it is still in the car now, ask Jim. HTH, Rob.
  5. Does anyone know where I can get one of these keys cheap (preferably an Audi one) :?:
  6. Lee, Your gonna miss the sound of the G60, I know I do! The 20v turbo is a nice engine though, not the most powerfull on paper but seems to have a very flat torque curve. One thing I do like is the way the revs dont drop when changing gear at speed so you have instant power again without having to build the revs up again. One of the bad things (along with the sound) is when you are waiting at a roundabout or junction, see a gap and try to nip into it only to find yourself crawling out into the road untill the turbo spools up, then you wheelspin up the road like a madman! You cant beat a supercharger for instant power. Cheers, Rob.
  7. Wait untill you pick yours up Jim
  8. Vince, I work for the welders at Queen Anne Road in Bristol. I often wondered if the owner (you) were using this forum or not. Next time I'm over I'll say hello. Cheers, Rob.
  9. Vince, Do you live in South Wales and work for Carillion by any chance? If so, I've seen your car in your works car park a few times when I've been over for training. Very nice motor mate.

    20v turbo

Don't you all miss the sound of you chargers though? I know I do, the higher my G60 revved the better it sounded. The 20v just sounds crap. I know they are the 'latest thing' in the VW tuning world but there is a lot to be said for a well tuned G60 engine, especially with the crossflow conversion nearing completion and big intercooler kits more readily availlable etc. Just my opinion.
  11. Faster too  Nice one Jim, you won't regret it :D
  12. Talking about Ebay, Earlier this year I found some local games shops selling the xbox game 'Steel Battalion' for £130 each. Four auctions later and each one made at least £100. One sold for £275!
  13. Sorry to hear about the spoiler Lee, It does go well doesn't it! Never bothered with rollers as my local ones at TSR are not meant to be very accurate. If you get it on some you will have to let me know what it produces. Changed anything else appart from the interior yet? Cheers, Rob.
  14. I am pretty sure the group buy was through Amber Performance after we were let down by another supplier. They were very quick in getting them for us too. Hope this helps.
  15. caraudiodirect Try the above, they have a shop & forum so you should get some help and ideas. HTH
  16. I always found Brentacre good for my modified Corrado. Gotta be worth a try. Although if anyone has a standard car, try Elephant. I found them really cheap when I insured my new A4 1.8T.
  17. Lee, I think the one in yours is a 'z series' The leather looks good, think I preffered the other wheel though :D
  18. I read the post wrong, thought it was about detectors
  19. They work and are well worth it but only if you get a good one, I would reccomend a Bel Euro 550. They are legal to use so the Police cannot do anything about them.
  20. Darren, I was suprised at how well it handled for an estate. Being the sports model it has factory uprated suspension, 16" alloys (with tractor tyres) and sports seats. Not as good as a C but not bad.
  21. Brian, I'm going to leave this one totally standard. So just a rechip, forge diverter valve, K&N and exhaust for me :D
  22. Lee, what is it with you and three spokes? I told you during the test drive they wouldn't look right
  23. I have unfortunately now sold my G60  so I would like to thank everyone who has given me help and advice during my 2 years of Corrado ownership, especially Darren (g-man) and Bilal (dubcharged) and eveyone else too. Also Andi & the moderators for designing and running this forum which is the best of the many different ones I am a member of. The car has gone to a very good home (leew) and I know it will be looked after and that Lee will now 'take it to the next level' in terms of performance and looks. I did have plans for more modifications for it but situations change and I just could not manage with a coupe any more so had to go for something with a bigger boot. I have bought a 96 Audi A4 Avant 1.8 T Sport so I still have a bit of performance to play with  but during the test drive it makes you realise how fast and torquey a G60 really is, and what a great car the Corrado is full stop.Even the VR6 ain't too bad  Anyway, I will continue to be a member and make the odd post or two. You never know, I might be looking for another one again soon as so many people do  A few pics of the new car below. Cheers guys, Rob.
  24. I'm going to veiw a car on Friday with the 1.8 t engine (Audi A4 Avant 1.8 T Sport) It's covered 73k with a FSH. With good maintenanc what is the lifespan of these engines and what sort of fuel economy do they give? Does anyone know when the cambelt should be changed and is there anything to be looking for, faults, common problems etc? Any opinions on the above car? Cheers guys, Rob.
