1. Not sure to be honest mate as never had a problem as of yet with the rev counter dropping, just rough running engine and that was down to air leaks and a 02 sensor when it got to operating tempature f 75degrees plus. .
2. Have you got a vgate or a scanner ? This could be an exhaust or manifold leak , or Mass air sensor, or quite a few other things to be honest I would have it scanned for faults or purchase a VGate off ebay for £30. I would check for air leaks especially if you have haad everything disassembled latley. Does it run rough straight away or when it gets to operating tempature?
3. The blue temp sensor for the ECU is only a £15 part you might as well change it and see if that cures it, I believe the part number is 025906041A , look on the link below it is item 13 on diagram so you can locate it in your engine bay , easy part to get hold of see if you can buy it as a package with the o ring and clip. Obviously the coolant can escape when you change it, so condsider a coolant change and make sure you use OE coolant or prepare for spillage and change with coolant in the sytem and be quick. . Also might be worth changing ECU control relay + Fuel Relay found in the fuse box. http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/USA/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/919/subcategory/212000/part_id/0/lang/e#sec_13
4. It is a joke i got quoted £1500 pounds and the classic guy £600 and that includes cutting out and fabricating. I would try and find somewhere outside of Manchester in a little town that has less competition, they might appreciate your business more and smaller firms tend to do a better job from my experience.
5. Yep it really is hard finding a fair priced body shop who actually do a proper job, their use to getting insurance contracts where they just knock them out as qucikly as possible. Im trying a classic car specialist body shop next in Nuneaton. If you have a bit of rust you want sorting they wont even treat the rust these days just sand over it and paint !
6. Hi Guys , Just concentrating on the parts I have listed for the time been , and will report back once I have met the owner of the company , it’s not just a 3D company they also make Mouldings the old fashion way , they can recreate pretty much anything plastic and supply to motorsport , classic car industry , aerospace , the owner comes across a sound brummie and has helped many a classic car fan out before and totally happy with low volume , so let’s see how it all unravels . I Regards Kieran .
7. Thanks but if you have seen what this firm makes it's bread and butter to them. I would probably be only making red or silver front decal. just keeping it simple at the moment. Many firms in Birmingham that have been supplying manufactured parts to the automtive industry so have all the tooling in place. But as mentioned fingers crossed as you might well be right. They are also experts in creating metal fittings.
8. If your on about these they are available at a good price all ready. This german ebayer is very fair and the inventor of the door handle repair kit. He also does the VDO trim for the facelift model. Good postage to may I add. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-VDO-Gauge-Holder-VR6-G60-16V-Heater-Control-Panel-Cover/170604268629?hash=item27b8ce8c55:g:QEcAAOxyZw5RbCK3 Facelift https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-Gauge-Holder-Panel-VR6-G60-16V-2L-SLC-3-Hole-93-96-Display-Holder/170605546032?hash=item27b8e20a30:g:-ewAAOSwbc9amWDf H
9. Im sure these do need making Sean , might be one for the future if all goes well, obviously the parts I'm hoping to manufacture will need to sell to cover my costs, if good quality and well priced I cant see why not.
10. Exactly this if I can get them down by 50% I will be happy, this will be a learning curve for me as never had any automotive trims made before so might well be way off with expectations but iam confident. The MD of the plastics company exact words were "the front decal is a piece of cake" . Ill need engough people to purchase these parts to cover making the template per item . One other part Im going to ask him to make is the door card screw caps. Final list of parts Im going for. Binnacle trim corner trims left and right 53585850701C & 53585850801C Fuse clip 191857971 Door seat tilt handels , need to source some of these as mine are golf ones . Corrado right side 867881634 Corrado left side 867881633 VR6 Front Decal badge 535853679 Door card screw caps. Just keeping it simple for the time been . Please note the tilt handels will not be made unless someone can post me a spare set in good condition as I have golf ones at the moment so the factory have nothing to go from. these guys have a 3d scanning machine . They are impossible to purchase anywhere please correct me if im wrong.
11. Yes agree will have to be produced so they are ready for use . I get my car back off Stealth in the next week or so and the factory owner has asked me to bring her over and he can have a look at the parts , the binnacle trims has Jim sold them all , otherwise as mentioned probably no point getting any made , also how much was it for a pair . Cheers.
12. Hi , I spoke to a manufacturer in Birmingham today who specialises in 3D printing for classic car plastic trims and does classic Lotus and a few other brands etc in low volume. I'm not looking to profit from this and also do not have the time really as I run my own scaffolding company all ready. However frankly I think the prices of obselete trims and decals are to high for my likings and I want to get the ball rolling out of principal to try and cut the costs as much as I can. The main cost is the template , so just getting some feedback if other members would be interested in purchasing some of the below items. He has all ready told me the VR6 Decal is quite frankly a piece of cake for him to make the template after seeing the item by email. Birmingham and the Black country does have an abundance of small manufacturers so very handy ! Binnacle trim corner trims left and right 53585850701C & 53585850801C Fuse clip 191857971 Door seat tilt handels , need to source some of these as mine are golf ones . Corrado right side 867881634 Corrado left side 867881633 VR6 Front Decal badge 535853679 Even if i can just get the front decal badge made would be a huge bonus right ? Hoping to at least half current prices floating about. Cheers feedback appreciated. Exmple of some of his work .
13. I would rather have them collected and sold as a package to be honest Simeon , also the purchaser can inspect them first and make sure they are happy with them. Cheers,
14. These came off a 95 VR6 and had some koni sport shocks, the shocks Absorbers were no good anymore . It will lower the ride height between 25 mm - 30 mm , I believe you need the early spring plates pre facelift to work with lowering springs on a corrado maybe another member can confirm this. It says on the spring that they also fit a Golf MK 3 VR6. I believe they will work with stock shock absorbers or any of the Bilstein range, but if your oe shocks are knackerd it will make the ride harsher then it should be. Described as best in class. Link for springs and description. http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/h-r-lowering-springs-30mm-vw-mk3-golf-and-corrado-vr6.html Cheers.

VR6 Fuel Hoses

Sorry mate correct link for last fuel line left off ebay. Part Number 021133988K https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/original-VW-Kraftstoffschlauch-R%C3%BCcklauf-f%C3%BCr-Golf-3-Corrado-Syncro-VR6-ABV-AAA/253581539419?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
16. Hi Anna , Are these the sill trims that have the Corrado lettering or the late plane trims. Cheers
17. Glad to hear doctor G, they might have that glue remover available over here but might be branded differently for obvious reasons ha.
18. Probably worth getting some alcoholic wipes to then as preperation. Had mine spotless with the steamer but there was no way I could get the VW hertiage glue off after I saw how awful the insulation looked from them as it was more like a hard super glue, trim glue should be strechy, really annoyed to be honest and there still selling it for some other poor sod . Thankfully tuough the new insulation I got has adhered really well , been on for four months now with no issues and if I do I have some heat trim adhesive spray.
19. I wouldnt bother using any glue remover personally as the chemicals could be abrasive to the paint laquer in the long run, just get off what you can with steam and a plastic scraper, this removed all my original insulation and adhesive before the VW Heritge special glue :bonk: , this is one of thoe jobs that the more you do can be negative.
20. What ever you do , do not scratch the underside of the paintwork as this could lead to moisture in the engine bay causing rust on any metal work that has had the paint removed. I would recommend using steam from a wall paper remover, works a treat and put a sheet over your engine bay to protect it from falling debris. I origianly got the VW heritge insulation what a load of garbage and the glue was awful/imappropriate, ended up cutting my loses and getting the OE stuff but the glue VW heritage sent out left a disgusting mess behind, actually told them to remove it off there site it was that bad but they are still selling it for some reason .

Fuse clip trim

Thanks for the reply I have seen them on ebay and they are an absolute rip off as Kip on here has mentioned there is a scene tax attached to these cars that inflates part costs . I was hoping that the housing clip I have circled is available stand alone as it might be used else where in the VAG range. I even saw a second hand battered light switch on ebay for £70, you can get them new for less then £30 some right chancers on the fleabay. I have managed to get the right angle philips head plastic clips for the tailgate trim as purchased a second hand tailgate trim for £20 with the clips and have a spare tailgate trim or could sell. The fuse clips did come on the Jetta and the transporter van to as stated on oempec. Im suprised someone with knowhow has not got a 3d printer together and made some parts because the postage and some of the prices from Germany are very exspensive. You ave to pay £7-£15 postage on top of the part which really makes it exspensive. Parts that could be printed and obselete. Fuse trim clips Seat tilt lever and trim surround A pillar caps B pillar and tailgate bungs Binnacle corner trim covers Front grill decal Tailgate trim philips head clips And so on its about time we got a list of hard to find/rip off top ten and approached a platics manufacture or DIY 3D printer in the UK. Somoeone like this may have the contacts. https://www.vehicleclips.co.uk/parts-by-make/volkswagen.html Cheers.

Fuse clip trim

Ive found the striped clip under the seat for the fuse clip trim so just need the part circled. Does anyone know the part number for this clip as it might be used for other uses in the VAG range and be available. Thanks in advance

Great bargain

I probably would of gone for this before I got VR6 as its just round the corner , Wheels do look amazing polished. His spent a lot of money on that car getting it where it is, well worth its asking price and has all ready dropped it, good mileage to. You could buy that have it a couple of years and easily get your money back if not more.
24. This car for sale looks a minter for anyone looking for a 16 V , not asking much at all. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-1-8-16V-1990-LOW-MILEAGE-EXCEPTIONAL-CONDITION-price-reduced/283414607206?hash=item41fcd3b566:g:9rAAAOSwnwpchiGN
