  1. Thanks again. Yes I've read the post, informative! BBS LM and Schmmidt ML are my 2 favorite. If the LM's were made in 16" that would be it for me! Roads are pretty bad where I live and I think I should stick to 16" unfortunately. Cheers mate
  2. Thank you that made me understand clearly, much appreciated. I guess the other thing that confused me was in the title, seems like it's for a VR6 and not for a VR6 swap... Thanks to all for your time and explanation, you guys are awesome. Cheers and good day!
  3. Hydro clutch swap? What does that mean? Cheers and thank you! https://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Golf-2-Corrado-Passat-B3-35i-bracket-Kit-Hydro-clutch-swap-02A-02S-02J/183983264435?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D3db10f587ee740a5a2dbc1a52d3e5095%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D8%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D310877544218%26itm%3D183983264435%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A6d3a21ec-31d6-11ea-9002-74dbd1805c72%7Cparentrq%3A8397cc7916f0aa48c3ee316cffcbef66%7Ciid%3A1
  4. Welcome back, I know it feels good! It's certainly frustrating... I don't know what happened either. I did got an email saying many attempt were made to log in and the IP address was not mine. When I created another account to reach out, I was able to post once with it. When I went to reply, I had the same issue again... Anyways, good for you!
  5. Thank you for making it clear, I feel like you answered all the questions I had. It's hard to find specs on those wheels. Maybe you're right and I should do like you and find something else... It's starting to be expensive cost of the wheels plus 90 euros shipping for each wheels, I can barely get an answer back from them, like you said it start to feel like a lot of messing around for the money involved... Thanks for your time, much appreciated. Cheers
  6. No worries! No, I haven't started yet, early March I'm aiming for! But I want to get the engine out so I can get a good cleanup of the engine bay. Then I will proceed to replace many parts and some powder coating while I'm there... Thanks for all the info and your video, very nice and informative! Cheers!
  7. Thanks for getting back to me! I would like to stick with a 205/45 tyre on a 7.5 wheel. So you're thinking that if the ET is 35 I should be somewhat alright? I won't have a huge drop by the way. Thing is I don't think I've seen them in ET 35?dobyou know if the ET is made to order when you purchase them? Because I've seen very different ET on those wheels.
  8. I thought ET 35 was the standard on a Corrado? Are you saying that I should almost not bother then? Rubbish ride you had?
  9. I thought ET 35 was the standard on a Corrado? Are you saying that I should almost not bother then? Rubbish ride you had?
  10. I guess I should say that I don't want poke mostly with the wheels... I have only one picture that I found with a guy running 7.5 all around on a G60 and there was no poke. About the ET, reading more on the subject it seems like ET on those wheels are not necessarily unique, I've seen 3 or 4 different ET so far? Maybe I should ask directly to schmidt?
  11. Good question, I'm not sure it's hard to find information on these and also hard to buy even... At least here in Canada. I contacted twice tuner shop which is the dealer in North America and they don't get back to me. I was asking about the ET as well. Anyways, I think I've read somewhere the ET was 25 but I'm not 100% sure. I have coilovers so I need spacers already... I really like those wheels but I don't like the stretched look of a 205 tire on a 9" rim. Also roads are bad here, I originally bought fat fives which are 17" but now I'm considering going to 16" for a better drive, I don't want to rub the tires every 5 minutes... Cheers
  12. Thank you so much for taking the time to send me all those links, much appreciated and yes it helps! Ok the guy for the front badges is the one that I contacted a couple of weeks ago, I'll order from him. The other French guy has lots of stuff too and he speaks my language lol. Thanks for the link anyways! I was asking about your power steering rack because like you I want to remove everything to start fresh and like Sean as a preventive maintenance I think it would be smart to refurbish it while I'm there. To be honest I'm almost thinking of doing the swap for manual steering. I had that before and I liked the feeling of it, feels more "grounded" to the road if that makes sense... Although it wasn't on a Corrado so maybe it wouldn't be the same feeling. Something like this perhaps: https://eaaengineering.com/products/mk2-vw-golf-jetta-manual-steering-kit Yes I do have a 70L tank, it's an Euro 95 VR6. I looked under today and my original straps are not even rusted, pretty lucky!? But I'll keep the link, I found a guy in UK and one in Germany, seller in UK is way cheaper... Cheers mate
  13. Ya, it sure did suck not to be able to log in, took me 8 days before I was able to... I don't know what happened? But it's working now and I'm happy! Cheers guys
  14. Well I read it all and I'm impressed! Good job mate, I relate to your line of thought... What you've done is exactly the way I'm going to approach my newly acquired Corrado. I want to have the feeling of driving a new car too and I'm patient enough to take the time and to not compromise the work that needs to be done to make it this way. I wish there was a good garage here like Stealth Racing where I could go too but I will have to do all that work myself which is fine. I'll get to know better my car this way I guess. But it will take a couple of years too... Your long list of things you've done is a what I have in mind to do. May I ask you a few questions? I'm curious to know where you found these and what you've got? Like the steering rack, the power steering pump, those stainless straps for the gas tank and finally that VR6 logo for the front grill? Again, good work man it's nice to see a Corrado owner taking so much care to make it right. Cheers
  15. Hello and happy new year to all! For 2020 other than health and success I also would like some modern lines for my Corrado 😁😎. I'm thinking of one piece, 16" but where I differ is I see everybody staggering them 7.5 at the front and 9 and the rear. I don't like the stretched look too much and would like to stick with 205 tyres. So I'm thinking of ordering them in 7.5 for all four. Anyone have them this way? Cheers
  16. Alright so I have not been able to log in for over a week now. I even created another account to reach out, I was able to post once and could not even reply a second time, it wouldn't let log in again even if I didn't sign out. So today I've been able to sign in and here's what I've done. Requested a password change. Yeah for like the 10th times... But this time I didn't do it from my laptop but via my phone. Opened the link that was sent to me on my phone. So when the new password was sent to me, I proceed to log in via the phone and this time I didn't do a "copy/paste" of the new temporary password, I wrote it down and punch it in on the phone and it worked! I'm trying to lay everything I've done to make it work for you. This was very frustrating... There's at least 5 people that went out all their way like me to reach out by creating a new account and having the same issue I've had. I'm sure there's way more people in the same situation. It's not an isolated problem I would say. I know it's the Holidays but I think having a follow up or at least a post from admin saying there were looking into it would have been appreciated... I hope my post helps others, cheers and Happy Holidays
  17. That may be worth investigating! May as well doing an OEM+ upgrade if that's possible!
  18. Thanks mate for checking that out for me, much appreciated. To be honest until I started looking for those parts, I wasn't aware of this, just assumed there was only one option... Looking at etka, that's how I found out. Thanks for checking, I'll order the ZF one then. Cheers!
  19. I have a question about my steering rack. So on my newly acquired 1995 euro spec Corrado when I passed the inspection, it was mentioned to me that my power steering rack bellow were ripped and needed replacement. Now I'm shopping for the boots online and I see there's 2 models (TRW and ZF) which one was the Corrado equipped with?? Cheers guys and thanks in advance!

    Upgraded light loom

Looking at my setup today and it's hard to say what was modified or not. The headlights that was installed are Sonar brand and according to their website, no modifications are required to install them on a Corrado equipped with e-codes from factory which is the case. So I guess it's safe to assume that the original hiring loom wasn't modified and I should be able to remove them and install my e-codes "plug & play". I'll find out over the winter when I remove the front of the car to get the engine out I guess. Cheers!

    Upgraded light loom

Would that mean you think that no modifications were made to I stall the halo and it would be just plug and play to reinstall the e-codes? That would be great! I guess, I should still upgrade the loom so they light better... I'll check this out with the diagram once I get home. Thanks!!

    Upgraded light loom

Well actually my car is Euro, went from Germany to Japan and then to me...that's another reason why I like this forum, I can relate to it!

    Upgraded light loom

Really enjoying reading this thread, you guys have such good info. It would be nice to see pictures though and if a write up was written with parts needed, wire length etc so we could make our own... See I just bought my Corrado and the only thing non OEM on it is the halo head lights... I bought some e-codes but need to make a harness now for them and since I don't have to original loom, I'm a little in the dark... I could buy the German one but it's a tad expensive... Cheers guys
