Just had the RAC out for the second time this month as when i've tried to start my car, it doesnt idle at all! he came out, cleaned the trottle butterfly up with carb cleaner, showed me the dirt and it was thick black, like...well carbon! What can i do to prevent this. And what is a good price for a brand new ISV for a 2ltr 16v 1993? Neil

I have two options and could do with your help please.... I have my renewal coming up and not sure what would benifit me best.. Option One TPFT - £545, Excess of £250 But if i have an own fault accident then my own car doesnt get fixed. Option Two Fully Comp - £730, Excess of £500 But if i have an own fault accident then ill have to pay the first £500, which i dont have anyway what so ever, plus if my car is more then £500 damaged surely it'll be right-off? Please help me as i'm not sure what to do! Neil

ive checked the switch and one of the tabs was broken, so fixed it, but it still doesnt work :(

yeah actually now u mention it i think a bit of the plastic did break off. Can you tell me Tekara, what would cause my Dash lights to be on all the time when my key is in?

I have just fixed the broken tab and now the LED ring on the switch lights up orange with the keys in and also when on main beem, when the keys are NOT in it light up green on dipped and main beam. A problem that has always been since i've owned the car for the last 4 months is that the dash lights are always on, with keys in and the HL switch not on? can anyone help me?

YES i have done a search, and i have found th eguide how to fix the tabs, BUT what im wanting to know is, does the switch controll the LEFT and RIGHT rear sidelight? Once i know the answer to this i can hopefully sort my problems out. Neil

so mabey the rear left light not wokring could be something to do with the head light switch?

as my passenger rear light has stopped working, and its not the unit im thinking it must be a wire, but after it splits from the main loom to each side, as my other light is still working, where about is the loom for the lights and where does it split so i can follow the wires to check them. Neil

i've got xtreme components up front with tweeters mounted in the mirror plastic part of the door, off the head unit, will be off an amp soon. the box, i just made it then stuck the subs in there, they sound amazing! vibrating through the whole of the car for a good bass but keeping the vocals up too.

I've have just read every single post in this tread and im still not sure, I'm wanting a cat back system for a 2ltr 16v 1993, i now know i Should go magnex or milltek, but which? I dont like loud noises, and i've seen a miltek for around £300 cat back system.

where can you have a milltek FITTED for £300, i've seen a cat-back system for £300 on the net, but not fitted? After 12 years my VW system is slowly rusting off, hangers have come off now and being held on by wire. I Think after all my research using the SEARCH feature i'm going with a milltek. can anyone point me in the right direction?

I need two new front tyres, i got two rears ones a while ago as i couldn't afford fronts aswell. I dont want to spend really much more then £60 a tyre, I need 205/40/17". I dont mind buying off the net then getting them fitted myself somewhere. Anybody got any good advice please? Neil

Update! I've found out its an electric fault, i've tried a new unit and still doesnt work. could it be a fuse baring in mind my other light works, or where should i look for other possible causes? Neil
