  1. No probs. Defo shouldn't need to flare arches, 205's will bring the wheels in just enough to tuck inside the arch.
  2. For this to work: You need 205/45 tyres. 195 will be too much, 215 not enough. You need to roll, but not necessarily flare the arches. For this to look good: You need to be running much lower. Stretched tyres and arch gap just looks ridiculous. Wheel poke and arch gap looks ridiculous. Unless you're prepared to lower the car by another 3cm plus I'd sell the wheels and find something else.

    TT Wheels??

as above - wheels are okay, tyres need changing. They need to be cheap if they're 16s though.
  5. Would a mk4 loom work with a mk5 engine if you were running DTA?
  6. I've had work done with Mark at SWICT as above, and also on other cars.. My general opinion: Mark is very good at what he does and very knowledgeable, I'm surprised to hear of issues with his standard of work. The ECU etc wasn't touched by Mark on clumpys car, but he rerouted a lot of wiring he wasn't happy with and added sensors etc which were missing. Everything he did he insisted on doing 'the right way'. The people who had previously wired [and mapped] the car hadn't done great. The downside is [like a lot of small business owners] he constantly over promises/under delivers in terms of timescales! Book to arrive at 9am, he's not there till 10am. Get quoted a week, it'll take two. It's nothing I wouldn't say to his face and nothing to put me off using him again, but definitely something to be aware of! He'll always do what he can to make up for it, but if deadlines stress you..
  7. I'm sure you'll be find bud, just wouldn't want to not mention it and see a future thread where you mention the same thing I had! It was really weird.. I'd checked the car over and was about to leave when I spotted a circle, then more, then more! :censored:
  8. This concerns me slightly! The bodyshop that painted my old car did this and a chemical in the marker stayed in the primer leaving circle halo's in the finished paint. They had to strip back both sides and repaint. I think you're supposed to use something like a poska paintpen - check with your prep guy!
  9. I have a painter available to me in bristol who does weekend work. Now arguably the quality of his work is very good and it's baked in a booth etc, but he'd be over a grand even supplying paint/materials at cost and without charging a 'proper' hourly rate. I can't imagine you'd find a bodyshop prepared to take the work on for £1k and if you did I can't imagine anyone being happy with the job done!
  10. Since this ad i've been watching that 18" set they guy on edition was talking about - all your fault! Doubt i'll go for them though, et20 makes it very difficult. Yours are awesome and will sell for good money, you just need the right buyer.
  11. You're never too old to own, and drive, a Picasso
  12. goodwood is defo worth going to, but GTI is a bit poor compared to other shows.. What dates are you thinking of doing? Whats your biggest interest? Air/water cooled? track cars? VWs or anything else?
  13. None of the European shows do auto jumble at all! Worthersee has some trade stands, but mostly cheap euro tat - Lexus lights etc.
  14. sadly, i think you'll struggle to get someone to pick it up, let alone part cash for it. of course, its worth a try - a 99p starting auction on ebay it worth a shot, let the market decide what its worth!
  15. Haha.. I'm gonna get onto the guy working on my mk2 tomorrow.. I'd need to have that gone or at least ready to go before seriously contemplating another project, there's too much stuff happening round here at the moment as it is! If the engine work is done, this becomes very tempting, thats as good as it gets for now!
  16. it is if your cars right hand drive..
  17. Black or grey? Black you might sell, grey you'll be stuck with forever! Where are you based?
  18. Quick google on the part number in the pic brings up: 535837205 - Left 535837206 - Right
  19. Goddammit! just sold the S4 too.. Added to watch list, you know, just in case..
  20. Ha.. I thought i was unique! Started a thread about it years back too from memory! Cool, wasn't trying to catch you out just always looked for it since mine!
  21. I reckon these might be my old set? It's the only set I've ever seen with an unmatching rear seat base!
