  1. I'm also in the process of carrying out this mod but there are a few things that have cropped up and i think are worthy of mention to help others planning on doing the same thing to their corrados. The main issue concerns the polo tdi housing, or at least the version supplied to me from Vw here in Rome but ordered in from Germany, P/N: 6NO 711 061A. My supplied version is different than the version photoed by Dave16v, The first thing that differs is the size of the holes that secure the gear lever's plastic ball into the actual housing, the two Torx bolts present on the golf 4 or Audi A3's gearshift housing with part number KO 711 061A won't fit as they are too big, so you'll need smaller Torx bolts off something else, also the fixing plate, P/N: IKO 711 061A off the 2005 model Audi A3/Golf 4 is also bigger so the holes don't align up when securing down the actual gear stick into the aluminium polo tdi's housing so you'll have to drill another hole on the bracket. Ok, Nothing huge but still a bit of a ball ache, especially if you new polo housing's gear stick mounting holes aren't even bloody well threaded!! Yep, brand new housing and they forgot to thread the holes.. Remember also that in order to separate and actually remove the gear stick your going to have to compress the spring and remove the securing collar Again, not rocket science but fiddly. Lastly, I noticed that, at least on the version supplied to me, there's a small aluminium ear or lug present which serves as a resting point for the sideways movement spring, both ends of the spring rest on it, on the 2005 gearshift it's incorporated onto the fixing bracket along with a small rubber bung thing that serves as the rest so in order to refit the relay lever P/N: 6n0 711 611 c first snap off the lug then fit the lever otherwise the lever won't sit flush and it won't work. Phew, sorry for the long post but i think that it should be pointed out that this mod isn't exactly 'Plug and Play' as other forums would make you believe.. All of my components, both new and used, were all made in 2005, as stamped on the Aluminium polo tdi housing, gearshift housing off a golf 4 etc.
  2. Sorted, My mate ended up buying one off eBay in the UK for, get this, £100.. crazy fukka!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  3. As title guys, Anyone got a good one? Definitely has to be red and no hand painted copies.. Cheers.
  4. I'm sure i've got a few old 9a and kr 1800 distributers down in my garage, later i'll pop down and have a peek mate.
  5. What's the difference between lhd or rhd? Laid flat 2 seem flat whilst the other one i found is still in its original package.
  6. Right, Just been going through another box of bits i unearthed that's been sitting for 10 years, inside i find a set of new roof trims, are they worth anything? The only things missing are 3 plastic locators that insert under the roof locating pins.

    Swaps..

Right, I've got a few spare headlamps with UK glasses that i keep trippin over, Does anyone have a spare golf 4 02J gearbox shifter they don't need and are willing to swap? I can't be arsed to troll around breakers and they rarely come up on eBay. Two headlamps with all tabs, good condition glass and good adjusters for the shifter tower. Cheers.
  9. I've reused mine loads of times, even on turboed motors, just remember to coat the in copper grease and that, obviously, they aren't damaged or torn. It's the crap small nuts that aren't up to it, i prefer 13mm turbocharger copper nuts. Forgot to mention that the little fekkers are quite expensive too..
  10. Hey Andy, I checked one spare head i've got down in my celler but it's an old 1.8 KR valver head with the older brown mechanical sensor. Tomorrow after work i'll dig out another 9A head and check.
  11. I'll check an old 16v 9A head i've got spare and if the sendor's still attached i'll pop it in the post. Send me your full address.
  12. Hi matey, What else does it do? ABS? is it for a valver or g60? Any form of instruction manual with it? Thanks.
  13. Right chimps, How much are you lot paying on your annual road tax? Any difference between a Vr6 and 1.8 16valver? I have to pay, every year, without fail E420.. God help you if you own a 2.9 Vr6 as here in Italy road tax is based on engine cc.. My corrado hasn't moved a wheel in nearly 6 years, been sitting in my private garage since '09 minus engine. SORN it i hear you say? yeah, shame that here it don't exist so whether it's on the road or off the Italian governing scumbags could'nt give a flyin fuk.. you pay regardless!! Effing absurd law, my corrado in six years has cost me nearly E3000 Euro in road tax alone WITHOUT ITS WHEELS TOUCHING PUBLIC ROADS!!!!

    handle lock

Late or early type of handle mate? There are two different types of barrel available, unfortunatly they can't be interchanged, one version has these tiny locating tabs cast into the lock barrel part of the handle, god knows what purpose they served whilst the other, more common type don't have these lugs. I've got a bag full of the little buggers so if you ldt me know which type of handle your car has i'll see if i've got a good 'un for you.
  15. God i feel like shiyte, been in bed for two days now and it's doing my head in.. I caught this bloody virus in ONE day! Anyway, here's to a happy new year you lot.
  16. Packed it up today mate, before i forget, don't forget the tiny set screw that's located underneath the swivel bit of the mirror and spray some wd40 or similuer onto those little bastid connectors for the heated element, i buggered one mirror glass today removingvit.. I'll try posting it out monday morning.
  17. No payment nessesary mate, christmas prezzy for you, PM sent through.
  18. 3 screws inside the housing that screw the black bit onto the mirror housing. Remember to be very carefull when removing the mirror glass though, pulling off the glass can crack it, watch out for corroded spade terminals for the heated glass aswell.. Be extra carefull whilst pushing back on the mirror glass that snaps into place, i always put a dab of silicone grease on the 4 plastic outer locating 'ears' to avoid cracking the glass, try not to push the outer parts of the glass as i remember cracking a few like this..but with the grease applied you should be fine.
  19. Christmas present matey, send me your address and i'll pop it in the post.

Later on i'll pull one out of a big box and get you the best one.

Send me your full address and postcode.

  20. Got loads of spare/broken mirrors matey. If your not in a hurry i'll pop one in the post for ya, might take a while to get there'cos i'm in Rome..
  21. Well merry xmas you bunch of grumpy gits..
  22. Hey Lukas, hope your well mate! Depends if you have A/C or not but i'm pretty sure that the hose connections are the same. If you do have air conditioning fitted the rad would be like a G60 version, about 600mm long with different coolant hoses. I'm throwing out a 16v radiator that you could have mate, do you want me to get a few photos of it so you can see if it's suitable? Cheers, Andrew.
  23. Any luck on postage mate?
