  1. It works if your car looks like this...
  2. Gold wheels and pink leather interior and you have an e38 show winner
  3. Trackings out.... Thats a Votex wheel from a MK2 (dealer option) Quite cool and rare but that one looks knackered
  4. MK2 1.6 Driver uses a green vac tank fr the 2e2 carb
  5. The thing with widetrack on a Corrado is that it's a bit of a bodge I reckon... The distance between the turrets doesn't change so they have to account for that... On the MK3 Golf it looks like it was designed for the wide track as the 4 stud cars got longer wishbones than the Corrado's
  6. Most consistent idle - I win again!
  7. I love MPG threads... I win every time :D
  8. Maybe the wrong cable fitted - they changed around the 1995 chassis - get it from VW so you get the right part!
  9. Mate the original Valeo ones were bad enough and the ones GSF sell are not as beefy as the VAG ones (also Valeo but better quality) - I'd never trust a Topran one for such an important part!
  10. TBH there is not much difference in price between cheap and good tyres to make it worth skimping I bought 4 Pirelli P Zero Nero's in 195/45/16 for £200 from Best Buy Tyres and got a free Pirelli bag with them... best tyres i've ever used tbh - I can't even tell the difference between a wet and a dry day they are so good. If you want to save a bit I think the Rainsport 2's are slightly cheaper and also superb tyres.
  11. Yep, as above - you can also use the multipoint nut from the VR6 which has a nylon insert.
  12. Yep, the offset is different becuase of plus suspension, you need discs from an early Passat VR which was non-plus.
  13. Homebase do the Philips, Nocrap has tried the Nightbreakers and they are pretty good, I'm using Halfords Super Brilliance which are also pretty impressive.
  14. Should be about £6 each from VW
  15. You just need both front blades (they are same length but slightly different offset) but you fit them on the wrong sides if you see what I mean.... they are £8 each from VW on trade and should be in stock.
  16. What car do you have?? - sound like MK4 type profiles.. ET7!?! I'm running 195/45/16's on ET35 and they are perfect - a width of 205 and 40 profile would also be ok.
  17. I don't know what a CrazyController is but I want one
  18. I should be! Heh - no, it's just good gear and I like me tools :camp:
  19. Dear Supercharged, Its not and they do. It is not a personal letter from a DCI, it just has its name on it. A DCI does have much better things to do, hence some civvie or newbie cop would have created/ammended some generic template. Cheers, Mr. Policeman. I know a DCI has not actually sat there and written it but the mere fact that it is from someone that superior looks pathetic!
  20. For anyone who wants a fairly decent socket set for the car boot etc this is a very good price for the above set! Very good ratchets (72 teeth) and has some good sizes going up to 24mm I think Extra £2 off with the trade card which isn't much but worth mentioning
  21. Ah sounds like a coil pack then, especially if it's 2 leads because of the design. The plastic casing does not take the extreme temperatures very well and goes brittle with age too.
  22. Nice one Jim, I might give them a try - I've never had a decent quote from Brentacre either, HIC always way cheaper for me.
  23. Did you allign the mech as per the Bentley Manual - if so this is wrong as it's for LHD cars. All you need to do is get the arm off the motor (the bit that wears usually) in a straight line with the next part of the mech and set that up so the wipers are parked.
  24. Likely to be the coil as it's mounted under the screen wash bottle so prone to corrosion or the hall sender on the dizzy - you might find that it's been knocked / come loose
