If your using adapters then it may be easier to have a wheel that fits the adapter so you can change it easily in an emergency - I have an audi 5 by 112 space saver but Porche use 130 PCD. Also check the rolling radius of the alloys roughly match that off the SS.

The Halfords 50% ones are now BOGOF - I think these are the autoexpress best buys... -

Why don't you just unplug it?

Don't overtighten!

Yep - VAG ones are SKF, don't use anything else!

Bentley is worth 10 times any Haynes manual! This may also help... http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... bolt_sizes

Also - where to all the bits of broken plastic end up?
-
I just can't believe you took it out and stuck the same 140k engine back in again...!

You need to get it on VAG.COM really for an intermittent fault like this...

Yeah - thats a 68mm pulley then, it may not have a shorter belt, Jabba used to modify the tensioner... 8Psi is not good and altho it's always a good idea to get the charger checked out if you don't know the history, it could be just a boost leak maybe at the baffle box or one of the plastic intercooler pipes... As above - well worth a trip to Gwerks for a check over and tune up

Ends should be available seperatly but I think one side is a set length from the factory
-
You may as well just change it again then Mavis - makes sense to get it nice and clean after a HG job anyway... Don't break it!!!!

Hmmm - no cat to worry about on a 1.8...

LOL! - you can buy the plug and repair wires from VW, you'll also need some heatshrink. Check your engine movement!

When was the fluid last changed? It will be a leak in the hydraulics - most likely the slave cylinder, if it's been doing it for a while then you may start to see signs of fluid leaking on top of the gearbox.
-
Or just go to Halfords / VW
-
Suppliers... (worth pointing out these are illegal too)
-
Moving to drivetrain...

It is and thats the part but check the wiring first, the plugs can wear if you have soggy engine mounts - there is also an earth point down there on the rear engine mount bracket where the plug is held on - worth cleaning this up...
