  1. Before changing it get it slightly warm (maybe wait for the 50c to register on the oil temp) - the matrix is always in circuit so yes you are changing the fluid there too... The fill via top hose can be used on any car but is really only needed for the VR, I've done the G60 several times just from the tank and never had any problems - trick is (as VW say) to fill it very slowly, should take at least 5 mins to fill the system...
  2. Are the fan and fuel pump running on when the engine is off?
  3. Matt - does one wiper move independatly of the other?? If so they need some attention quick (I left mine and the mech failed one day) Otherwise the Lupo wipers so tend to hit it slightly on full power when it's really p1ssing it down.... I changed the crank as it was cheap (you must make sure you get it in the right place with the motor parked) but the wear was in the rubber part of that small arm (less than a 10er)
  4. No - thats a caliper per side (they are sided) You use the mk3 (Corrado) carriers
  5. Rip it out and buy a new cap...
  6. I think 30mm is the safe limit for standard shocks...
  7. TT Comps are great, even for winter as they are nice and easy to keep clean! (Yep, they are the very flat chunky ones - 5 spoke tho)
  8. Yeah - I still can't believe the Haynes manual even suggests using circlip pliers...
  9. It needs to be wound back! You can try doing it by hand or with circlip pliers but I would advise a trip to Halfords or GSF to get the proper tool!
  10. Bosch silvers are ok but not got the best reputation... Either get Halfords or VAG, about the same price but 4 year warranty with Halfords Calcium ones...
  11. Jesus! - I think i'd have to advise anyone with a Corrado to get an agreed payout policy!!!
  12. The VAG ones are a mix of Sachs and LuK on a VR...
  13. £20 last time i bought one, fairly easy to change with the seat out and plastic cable ties are useful to replace the metal clips

Yeah - we did have the whole column out the car tho Eric - not sure if it's still nice and easy in situ...
  15. They're about £80 from VW but GSF sell them - standard Golf part... Does the scuttle cover sit close to it? - I reckon it overheated...
  16. What about combining the National day and AGM?
  17. LOL - I don't know why but i'm going to dig out my 'So I married an axe murderer' DVD to watch...
  18. vr6storm, £60's cheap - it's £110 at Ipswich Audi! Anyways, back on topic - Oil change on a mk4 - thats an engine out job isn't it??
