Yeah it's part of the ignition switch itself but it may be happening if the switch has been replaced but not screwed in and has slipped out the lock housing... take the lower cowling off to check.

No worries - sure you'll find a second hand one tho but you really need to get one local as shipping over there costs a bomb!

Nope - they are interchangeable but not an early on a VR as they had to make the bulge bonnet to accomodate the VR6

Yip - he's got a GS as well in Mandarin Yellow The K1200S seems to be well liked by the magazines and BMW support it well - it practically gets re-mapped every time it goes in to BMW as they are constanty improving the software

VR fans are better but very expensive and as they are a pair you need a new metal surround etc...
