Should do as they provide a true 12v to the lights, the standard loom has a lot more resistance due to age, length, going thru the switch etc Not sure if Xenons are the same as normal bulbs but you should get a 'whiter' light with 12v's

Thats common on all VW engines with hydraulic tappets apparently... (according to VW) - especially if the car is not used daily. There is a procedure about running the car at 2000 rpm for 20 - 30 mins, if the noise doesn't go away then change the tappets...
-
Not to mention the efficiency...

Thjats just one of the factory type clips, some clip over themselves to lock others just need to be cut off and replaced really - you can sometimes get a screwdriver in and work them off but in this case your more likely to break the plastic assembly...
-
They'd probably just nicked it...
-
I've only tried one but for £35 the Halfords one is superb and fits really well...
-
..you can buy Heinz in any good supermarket tho..
-
Yeah it was until he melted piston no.3...
-
Deffo - original ones are metal sleeved inside which will rot if the fluid is not changed very reguarly... new ones are plastic

Reinz is what VAG sell but you should be able to get from GSF too
-
Cool, hopefully found the problem then... As above there a various way to get the studs out or there is a new pump pump from VW... these are cheap but you need to take the charger off to get to the bracket - maybe worth it tho if the charger is due a rebuid?

Is it a blue of a black cap?

Vag-Com & Garage kit think that they aren't connected

It will probably be the chip, especially if it goes thru an encryption module... Can you try the old ECU just to see if it will scan the engine? -
...and paint them before fitting!

Cleaning the Internals of the Bottom End
Supercharged replied to stevie_f_2004's topic in Engine Bay
Shouldn't really need cleaning tbh - thats the engine, it's meant to be oily!! -
Steve, Vince at Stealth Racing has been looking for a Corrado VR6 for a while... don't know how well you know him if at all but worth giving him a call... (he's more likely to appreciate the work thats gone into it than most!)

claire.major, hmmm - yeah sounds like the stat needs doing as well then... make sure you buy a new plastic housing, O ring and bolts... 2_door - sounds to me like you have a blockage somewhere??
-
Yeah - I'd think they're more likely to find out about it by reading an internet forum!
-
No I loooked at it yesterday and didn't see anything corrado?
-
It might, not too sure about that one tho... Right - i need to get out of bed!! Good luck!
-
(make sure you have a spanner big enough or a socket that will go over the connector - it's about 30mm i think but actually an imperial size)
-
Here you go... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ermoswitch

Hold on, i think I asked for the part number on here when getting mine - the one you need has 3 pins in a line - they will try and sell you a round connector most likely!

You mean you unplugged the thermoswitch and shorted the wiring? - If so that proves it is the switch you need NOT the thermostat itself... So you just need to buy the rad fan thermoswitch that screws into the radiatior, you can get these from GSF etc - you need a large adjustable spanner and will need to remove the battery for access, they can be swapped over without loosing much coolant. You don't want to change the thermostat unless you have to as it's an arse of a job !
