He's not done a G60 one yet as he's not got one so if anyone has a spare he would like to buy one to start off doing some exchanges....

Thats a weird quote - for instance a brake fluid change at the dealer usually costs about £30, most of the other prices don't make sense either... Did they confirm the history?? - just worn axle bushes is very strange on such low mileage... Missing subframe bolts!!!??!!!

I don't think it's necessary to replace the front ones is it?? I know with the rears it is as they are more fragile and can distort...

It's just a switch for the CL - they corrode (mine dropped off as I removed the handle) I think they cause problems when they are like this as the short onto the chassis - mine used to do some strange things but has been fine since passat rear handles and the wiring insulated in the door card...

Whats a good price for S/H Mk4 Rear Calipers?

Same as standard I'm afraid... mk4 ones are the same size diam but 9mm thick as opposed to 10 but you need to use the mk2/3 setup any how because of the taper wheel bearings... -
Not sure where but you will want ones longer by the amount you are spacing by and no more or else you will hit the abs rings... Moving to suppliers...

Yep, I've heard of mk4 calipers fail too but not in the same way as the mk2/3 ones seizing up - this is why they are an exchange part as altho they are re-buildable it's not cost effective for a garage (or there customers to do this..) MK4 rears are £55 each from VAG plus you'll need the conversion hoses. -

Don't trust the haynes mate - look at the instruction manual for the car...

rixy, I think that must have been changed at some point, the plastic cover is mk4 I think and the bolts are captive, also the original studs will have been removed so you will need to order these as well as the nuts - maybe do a swap with someone?
