  1. Your not feeding hot air back into it...
  2. blackcat, buy it from VAG, the GSF/ECP ones are known for leaking... Agree with flushing completly, the previous owner may have used tap water to fill up before and this may have scaled up the sender... Try and find the small leak first, check for any white/pink stains in the engine bay, and look at where the water pump housing and impeller meet... if you can't find anything at all then it may be the matrix leaking into the tray below...
  3. andyvlw, Yep the hose number Dinkus posted is correct - front hoses for a mk3 VR6, got mine direct from Goodridge.
  4. Then again the year of registration will be on the V1, it will have been build before this but not after!
  5. Well yeah they can be older but what does the chassis number say?
  6. I thought only Tom was aloud to call you that?
  7. Erm... it's not a 1990 then with late interior and larger fuel tank! You sure it's a 1.8 16V and not a 2.0? What is the chassis number and what do the dealers say when they look up the parts with it?
  8. mr.ots, yeah cheers, I bought one the other day when they were doing the spend £50 and get a ten pound voucher thing...
  9. You guys looked near the ABS relays?? - behind dash on passenger side...
  10. If you have ABS then the contol unit is in the engine bay near the washer botle, if not then it's where the ABS relays would be - ie up behind the passenger side of the dash...
  11. I'd have thought the socket would be around somewhere... maybe try and contact a previous owner? Also - I reckon the stored faults could be read by sticking the ECU into another car and hooking them up to VAGCOM without turning the ignition on... Or I'd say any reasonable engine management specialist should be able to read them directly from the ECU - Bosch service centre maybe??
  12. Yeah I saw it, agree it's far better than Top gear at the moment...
  13. Not quite true Kev, I was with you when you drove into another wall... New glasses - PMSL!!
  14. Oh, I see what you mean by Glitter car now... I just thought it was badly stone-chipped in the pic! (sorry.. )
  15. Yeah, engine code is stamped near where the fuel hoses go round to the rail...
  16. Can't really help with the above but i'll give you ten english pounds for every time you mention the word 'Corrado' in the interview altho I will need evidence on some sort of audio recording device before any funds are released...
  17. What car do you have? Dome light = Interior light?
  18. colourblind, what engine do you have?
  19. Wales - thats the best lookin sheep I ever seen!
  20. This could just be the heat sheild on the CAT - the noise resonates thru the manifold and makes it sound like its inside the engine... large jubilee clip required!
  21. Yeah - I always thought it was only G60's that had the holder but Kev found some VR's to have them as standard too..
  22. Engine on from cold and unplug it at idle - the engine note should change.
  23. I think the early pumps are prone to failing - give aquamist a call and see what they say...
