Supercharged replied to Carl's topic in Engine Bay
Are you still running the OE heat exchanger?? - If so get rid of that for starters... -
corradomygod, is this a G60 we're talking about?? If so then yes, G-werks is the place!
-
This usually happens in cars that have been smoked in alot... Spray glue may do it but to be honest it may be easier to just find a good one from a scrappy, I think some passats also got the black lining also...
-
BBS made the original solitudes and alot of other OE alloys for VW... It may have been rear ended and thats why the rear panel sticker is missing (not really a problem if it's been fixed ok and not suprising on cars of this age either) Anyway - stop panicing!! It will be a Storm as Mystic Blue was a Storm only colour, you got everthing else - just buy a set of shabby BBS Solitudes and get them referbed to finish her off...

£100 is bloody good to be honest, it should only take 2-3 hours but as always, with the age of these cars, could take much longer...
-
Yep, leave it soaking in WD or preferably PlusGas then get an allen socket and make sure you tap it all the way in before trying to release it with a short, sharp blow!

Anything from 80 - 150k's depending on how they've been treated... If the bite point is low (towards the carpet) then you may have a hydraulic leak - check the slave cylinder and fluid levels etc first...

Will a Corrado steering wheel adapter fit a MK3 GTi ??
Supercharged replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Interior
Think so but maybe only the early ones... -
Also bear in mind you'll need to go to a garage anyways to get the geometry set up.
-
Your right, it probably was to do with reliability and also the fact that the VR6 engine was ready for action so they basically replaced it... But, the G60 is a great engine and very reliable being an 8v it's easy to maintain and parts are cheap, as long as the charger is looked at at the correct intervals by a specialist like G-werks they will run and run, just budget upto £500 for a charger rebuilt if the car hasn't had one recently.

Shocks should always be changed if lowering! Moving...

The older K Jets used to use 5 bar I think...

You we're right Kev.. He Is the Forum Gimp! -
Did you change the plugs as well? Check the coilpack for any cracks and scan with VAG.COM
-
Sounds like a dead CPS to me (25bhp drop)
-
Yip - Ignition switch...
-
Yep, The 2.08v, VR and late G60's use the single unit... The valvers use a different one (the 2 pump set-up I think)
-
Also see if it has an uprated headlight loom... As henny says the brake light switch is probably stuck...
-
Yep, they were doing them at inters for £60 a set which is half the retail price from VW! - I'll lock this up as there is already a stickied thread about this.

Should we sell him some wing mirrors???
-
Hmmm - I know Valeo also make clutches for VW but I seem to remember the original that came out of yours Kev was a SACHS... (If it was the original)
