  5. LOL - same here, Just sailed thru the MOT and goes lumpy as I reverse out the garage, then cuts out 3 times on the way home... Grrreeeatt!

  10. You need to get the manifold and rocker cover takeb off to get to the state that is shown in the picture on page 1, this shows the state of the upper tensioner... Some go at 100k some go alot further than that so I wouldn't worry too much! - Sounds like you need a good service and inspection at somewhere like Stealth to put your mind at rest.
  11. Yep, just unplug the connector near the rear engine mount - if it improves then you've found your problem!
  12. They should change the tappets while doing the head, make sure they use the mk4 solid tensioners as replacements. Only option for bore wear is to increase capacity, ie 3 litre+ (new pistons) What mileage is it on?
  13. Yep, from what I hear, Polo's are a pain in the arse for modern engine conversions - G40 may well be the way to go!

  15. Yep, I got some flash for my b'day - seems to clean the car well and really take the dirt off but to be honest you still need to use a sponge and still dry it afterwards for a great finish - I think this is just a good carwash for lazy people!
  16. Yep, electronic - look for the plug ontop of the gearbox and check the wiring.
  17. Same as mine when I first got it, after a GB oil change, shifter cables re-alligned and new mounts everything is fine now!
  18. Yep, change the gearoil for Redline MT90 (Demon Tweeks) and get the clutch fluid bled thru as I don't think this gets bled as part of normal servicing (god knows why), maybe worth sticking a new slave on anyways..
  19. Yep, don't use a G clamp, someone had said it's possible with circlip pliers but for the sake of £20 just buy the tool, Halfords sell them or Draper do a much cheaper version.
  20. It may have gone when the slave was playing up - A faulty slave will put more stress on the master... The master cyl is the bit that the pedal connects to, right next to the brake servo/and brake master - have a look at it and check that for fluid leaks... Should take a garage 1 hour to swap and bleed fluid.
