Please bare in mind that sticking H rated tryes on a VR6 or G60 (maybe all Corrados) could invalidate your insurance!
-
Yep, good call Sam... Is this an ex-fleet car?? reason I ask is that when the oil is changed on these they usually suck it out the sump from the dipstick tube, this hapenned on one of our work Astra estates and altho it had oil it had blocked the oil pickup i think due to these dodgy oil changes and needed to go to the dealer to be flushed.

Bosch W6DPO's are the correct ones
-
Ahh cool - so should be a cheap fix then... The part numbers are MK2 and passat parts so I would expect you to be able to get them from a scrappy fairly easily
-
Yep, new fobs go for about £30 on eBay and you can program them yourself if it's not a really old model

Labour time/charge for cambelt & tensioner change?
Supercharged replied to juloesG60's topic in Engine Bay
Parts are about £25 (£5 for the belt and £18 for the tensioner plus VAT) Yeah about an 90 mins as Henny says... -
G60's don't have a MAF, yes I think it should keep running but maybe not from cold...
-
I think there will probably be another Stealth GB soon as there seems to be a bit of interest...
-
Yeah, they started as rubber but the later cars got the less 'bendable' plastic ones - early ones are better but the only place you'll get one is off a car thats breaking.
-
Backs may rub slightly if your suspension is lowered, give them a try and buy another pair of 205's if needed
-
On the rail?? - If you use a trolley jack there are special jacking points under the car (look for the indents on the sills then look underneath) - yo should also use a cloth between the jack and the car to protect the underseal
-
Did you put a new cap on it as well?? If not get one first (Halfords or VAG)... Also try running up to temp with the cap off to release any air and also check the stat is opening and the rad is getting hot.
-
Do you have a Mocal cooler fitted?? - just these can have an effect on the amount of oil in the sump depending is the stat is open or not when the oil is changed and when the car is stopped...

DIY G60 rebuild reveals knackered charger with pics
Supercharged replied to CaiosG60 PWR's topic in Engine Bay
You can see by all the swirl marks that the charger has already been ported out! When was the last rebuild and who by? -
MK3 Golf VR6 chin spoiler fit a Rado front bumper??
Supercharged replied to WONGA's topic in Exterior
Nope! -
Think it's just called an RS front bumber - do a search on here for more info...
-
Jesus, not good but hopefully will be sorted soon!! Have you thought about changing the springs for H&R's as they're coming apart?? Suprised Stealth didn't sell you some as they hate the Eibachs!
-
Does sound like the clutch itself or at least the fork i'm afraid... May be worth undoing the slave and seeing if you can see any problems inside the box before taking it off tho (not sure if this is viable tho especially on a VR as space is so limited)
-
53i is the Chassis number (same as Sciroccos!)
-
Yep, always torque the wheels up when the weight of the car is on the ground... invest in a trolley jack, well worth £20 from Halfords!
-
Didn't think you did either unless the 16v's are different?
-
some of them don't i think, as my mate found on his
-
Sure that wasn't the factory markings? - all the late chargers had this...
