  1. The Halfords ones are pretty good, I've got a calcium one on mine and it came with a 4 year Guarantee (maybe worth checking to see how old your is) Otherwise GSF do the Bosch Silver's which are very good quality and 3 year I think... should be about £50
  2. GSF do recons otherwise VAG... The part number (for a non VR6 rack) is - 192422061P for an early car or 192422061k for a late car (50N011488 onwards)
  3. Yep, it would be well worth it! - Do you know anywhere tho Darren...?
  4. Sounds like one of the engine sensors is dead or the car just needs setting up - a trip to somewhere like G-werks or Stealth would be well worth it!
  5. 20:00 Today BBC2 Top Gear 2004 A look back at some of the best bits of the last series with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The Brits take on the Americans and Australians when the Jaguar S type R goes head to head with the Vauxhall Monaro VXR and Chrysler 300C; Richard and James try their hand at minicabbing and road test two new MPV's - the Renault Scenic and the Ford C-Max; and the Porsche Carrera GT takes to the track Duration: 60mins
  6. Speak to Vince Saiya at Stealth Racing, used to work for Gemini so knows VW gearboxes inside out!
  7. The solid transission one is 357 199 381C and is available from GSF for about £10 The rear one is just a mk2 part, I think VT do an uprated one for about £75
  8. It's worth noting that you don't actually need a space saver or any spare tyre infact to pass an MOT, alot of new LPG powered cars just come with a bottle of tyre weld and thats it to allow space for the gas tank... I'm thinking of taking my space saver out and doing the same but I think its worth making sure you have a spare wheel at home somewhere just in case!
  9. There roughly a tenner each but they are set within the rear disks so may as well change the disks and pads to... It could also be a seized rear caliper causing the problem also :?
  10. The standard items are fine for most standard and modded VR's!
  11. Maybe but how long will the engine last!
  12. Not good, what sort of mileage had yours done?
  13. Yeah, sorry I forgot about that - stupid of me! :D

    Problems??

mike_rvf19, That hose needs to be exactly 1m long to run correctly!
  15. craigbeal, send that picture into PVW, they'll probably offer you a cover shoot!
  16. Personally I would 'french' the numberplate and fit two massive 'oil pipeline' exhaust pipes out the back of the boot giving that classic max power boot that you cannot open and fumes with excess noise in the cabin appeal...
  17. Hard to say wether it would be worth it, 30k miles is the difference but say you changed the oil on yours every 3k miles and always warmed it up first before thrashing it and his is just dealer serviced every 10k and driven hard all the time then it could be in a worse condition! I suppose being an auto it shouldn't have really been thrashed but as your swapping the transmission over anyway then I'd say it would be worthwhile doing the chains and tensioners with a new clutch and maybe lightened flywheel before you stick it in your car - I can imagine this will be a much easier job with the engine on a stand! The engines should be the same, just the auto box has its own ECU, a guy on here, Storm has converted an auto to a manual and he's got a list of all the extra parts needed which if there are any like sensors etc then you'll just use your existing ones...
  18. It was there orginally tho - In the thread description!
  19. He did specify that tyre in the description! Tom - go and have a 4 pack of Red Bull, that will sort you out :)
  20. I think VR6 and OSV are still a bit hung over - lol
  21. Try giving X-Spurt Tyres in Ipswich a call, If they are available in that size they should be able to get a price from their supplier and they are usually cheaper than Mytyres.net by the time you've paid for fitting etc...
  22. Saw this car last week and have to say the paint job is stunning, well worth the money and the time spent on the strip down
