  1. Yeah VR6/Mk3 ones are cheaper and stronger
  2. I replaced mine from Timpsons (the shoe repairers) - they got me 2 'learning' fobs for £50, you just use the old one to program the new ones, they work fine but the range isn't as good as the original..
  3. I had a small chip repaired recently, the RAC came out to me at work and did it, It was free as I'm fully comp (If i needed a new screen it would have been £50 excess) - The actual cost to the insurance company was £41 but I'm sure most places would do a private job cheaper if you brought the car in to them, It took about 30 mins to do inc de-greasing the glass
  4. Thats rubish - check the Parts Club link in this forum, even if you pay full price they are £3, mine cost me £1.50
  5. At least if a dealer gets it and sells it then the new owner will have some sort of warranty but they may just send it to auction if its over 5 years old... Shouldn't it be registered tho as being flood damaged?
  6. I think most BOSCH dealers have facilities to do ultra-sonic cleaning...
  7. Have you got a rear ARB?? - If so I don't think it's really recomended to use a rear brace as it will stiffen the chassis up to much and you will loose the passive rear steering... If you havn't got the ARB, I would get one and not bother with the brace!
  8. Yes and Yes, there are 2 types of glass available tho... Flat and Convex
  9. Hmmm... maybe worth nicking the relay out of one of those....
  10. New updated prices attached, see start of thread.
  11. What the Caliper or carrier is making contact with the back of the bolt???!!!
  12. What! - Nah, he's got the right prices, I enquired a few months back... I did question why one side was cheaper than the other tho...
  13. Errr... do you mean the rotors?? - front or rear?
  14. Erm... what end of the hose? What engine have you got?
  15. They just lever off - I find a flat blade screwdriver wrapped with insulation tape does the job, bottom first then top
  16. ANDY16V, I think you clicked the 'new topic' button...
  17. Welcome to the forum... They are Corrado only as far as VW's go (but the same mirrors are also fitted to a few TVR's and the Mclaren F1) That price is right as they are the heated sort, chances of finding good ones in a scrappy are slim as as they are heated, they eventually corrode around the edges... Other options are getting generic mirror glass and cutting them to size and sticking on, also someone mentions that there is a BMW model with a similar shape available from Halfords....
  18. I think a missing gearbox earth can cause the ECU to fry...
  19. All the 5 stud models (Corrado VR6 / Mk3 Golf GTi's) use the 14mm bolt... All the 4 Cyl Corrado's and mk2/mk3 golfs that are 4 stud use the 12mm variety
  20. That may be a generic 'learning' keyfob that is just a clone of the original... May be worth dropping the lower dash shelves and having a look behind the centre console as that is the most likely place for the main alarm box / ECU to be located.
  21. Supercharged

    VR6 engines

    The aptly named 'Sprinter'
  22. Mine have been fine too for the last 18 months, the blades do harden up tho if you use a strong dilution of alcohol in your screenwash... I had a glass repair done yesterday by the RAC and they de-greased the windscreen inside and out, I then drove down to london today with it raining all the way there and back and the wipers were superb, keeping the screen crystal clear at all times, no judder or smearing... Halfords now sell the Bosch aero blades for the lupo
