Converting Mk3 Golf 1.8L to G60 PG engine
Supercharged replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
g-man, would you guys offer to do a conversion?? - I've got a mate with a mint Mk3 2.0 8v GTi who wants more power plus his engine is a bit tired on 178k! -
I hink the BERU's can be had from Ford alot cheaper - someone posted the part numbers up not so long ago...

I like the Yoko's good grip in wet and dry and they wear well, I've had the current ones on the car for 12k now and there only just half worn (I did swap the fronts and backs round last year tho) - Good tyre for the money and seem to be the choice for people with forced induction. Have to disagree there, the Toyo do give better grip in the dry as they are far softer but in the wet thy are awful! - I've only tried the T1S's onceon a set of 17's and I liked them to start with a it was summer but 3,000 miles later they were half worn and the wet/cold weather kicked in... Your the second person I've heard say the Toyo's last longer than the Yoko's - maybe the A539's came out with a much softer compound originally? :?

Dude, I'd take another C for spares!

Did you not even get a copy sent out when you got your membership card?? LOL, Thats sounds like the good old royal mail to me, I doubt Jeremy would send an empty envelope! - The amount of stuff I've had go missing in the post this year is unreal, I've noticed that Amazon are now using Business Post, I wonder how much revenue the RM will miss after loosing a customer like that!
-
Yep, sounds like the Thermoswitch (or wiring to it) - the afterrun is on a different circuit and is controlled by the relays up by the expansion tank. I'd test it first by unplugging the switch and bridging the connectors...

I think you can see the upper tensioner condition from this as well?

The Kevbot is in standby...

Thats a bit overkill for just surfing this forum Mat! - My 'old' Pentium 4 seems to cope just fine, even with your posts....

It affects 1 in 10 of us... (so I've heard)

They broke them taking them off then or didn't fit them ack properly... hopefully its all sorted now and you can drive it!
-
Have you taken the centre off the steering wheel? If not do this and unplug it, touch the wires to make the circuit, that will then rule out the switch contacts.... Corrado's have 2 horns so its unlikely they will both stop working at once so must be fuse or connection issue....

VR Dumping Coolant out of the expansion tank after a run.

I think thats a bit drastic, I'd try a new cap, there only £3 or so from Halfords/VAG
