Are you sure its the box and not just the linkage cables? -
Dry joints...
-
Is that the pocket with the bits that locate where the pedals are?? - you need to get these in place first then try and screw the rest in...

The Kamei ones do raise up and I think the GSF ones do also... I have seen ones that don't tho...

URGENT - Part number needed - ATTN Stevemac / Henny!
Supercharged replied to Supercharged's topic in Engine Bay
Ok, thanks to Stevemac for finding out the part number for GSF (191 959 481c = 93478) For info - that part number fits all cars except the late VR6 (built 93 on) which need the equivelent Mk3 part 1H0 959 481b - you can tell which one by the shape of the plug, the mk3 one is round and the mk2 one is still 3 pin but they are in line so the connector is flat) Easy enough to swap without having to drain any coolant, took battery out to gain access and used a 30mm spanner to loosen, swapped over quickly and topped up 8) Seems to be working fine and I also checked I was getting at least 12V to the fan, the only thing I noticed was the switch I took out says 1. 95d, 2. 102d and the one I put in says 1. 84d and 2. 95d so I'm not sure if its exactly the same as the original or I have fitted whats known as a low temp fan switch?? Its confusing because the part number on the ETKA diagram says 95-84c/102-91c next to it as these are the on and off temps for the 2 stages of the switch so the one I've used may be exactly the same but the GSF part may be just labeled differently to the original  :? -
Need new engine mounts soon... Was thinking about the VT's or JMR's solid one but didn't realise the Golf Rallye used an uprated one as standard... Part number is 191 199 279c Has anyone fitted one of these? Opinions pleaese...

question 1 fuel pump or two? on 1.8 16v
Supercharged replied to bighairymuppet's topic in Engine Bay
Yep, my mates lift pump went but by the time he realised where the problem was, the main pump was also knackered due to the extra work it was doing. -
Waterleak?As Sticky. #3. G60-black plastic housings?bigpics!
Supercharged replied to Carl's topic in Engine Bay
Yep, as G60Jet, says get all those bits, also a good time to replace the other plastic flange on the RHS of the head and renew the temp senders... Also buy 2 bottles of G12+ Or if you want to go he whole way, get the plastic thermostat housing and new stat, maybe new expansion tank... the list goes on. -
Yeah, I'm at work at the moment but can do - If you ring up Kamei tho they will end you a copy and fitting kit if your missing that too??? - I'll dig the number out for you later
-
LOL - It'll be ok mate...
-
Get new ABS rotors mate, rear ones are cheap...
-
Yeah, thats what I got, I wasn't sure if they were chromed from the factory tho as I picked them up at Inters 8)
-
LOL, No - "never gonna use them" You get a fairly decent fitting kit and instructions with them... just go for it!
-
A well placed Mocal Oil cooler should give you a drop of about 20 on the higher oil temps... Water - sounds like the Rad Thermo-switch is knackered or thermostat not opening... Is the rad getting hot? what temps does the fan cut in? Also check to make sure your getting 12V to the fan motor.
-
Thats a bit harsh... I heard he managed to extract an extra 0.5 Bhp out of his old Cavalier by removing the air filter...
-
Do you mean it engages very low?? If so then you have a hydraulic leak somewhere....
-
Alot of people with Mk3 GTi's have problems getting aftermarket wheels to fit over there calipers (which are the same as Corrado's I think...) even 17's which are sopposedy the correct offset Also when buying longer bolts make sure you also don't get them too long as they will grate against the ABS rotors...
-
I feel a group buy coming on...
-
Don't buy the boost hose kit from them tho, the 2 intercooler ones I got with mine did not fit at all - maybe their mould was based on an earlier G60 tho...
-
Are these also the same jokers that give give there 'specialist' opinion in this months Used Car buyers guide for the VR6?? Funny how I've been a CCGB member for about 5 years now and have never heard of this 'specialist' :?
-
'acting weird' ??? - If a fuse has blown then they won't work at all - More likely the headlight switch, mine went yesterday but managed to fix it by taking it apart.. :?
