I've had mine about a year now and there fine, check what sort of screenwash you are using, it may contain too much alchohol in which case its also damaging your window seals - I only use Decosol or the VW stuff

So was it worth it and what other bits did you need... A mate of mine works for Merc and we discussed it a while ago, He said he could get one for around a ton

Yep, I bought the Kit from Larkspeed for £380 inc delivery and got the H&R's seperatly (the SSK kit comes with the TA Dampers and Vogtland springs)

Get it down to G-werks mate, my car was on 89k and the charger had never been off, altho it was in good condition overall, the toothed rubber timing belt inside was about to snap and I don't think it would have made it to 100k's I went for the Stage 4+ rebuild, SNS v5.5chip and 68mm pulley with new V belt to match 8)

Yep, same prob as me then - I'm fairly sure my gauge is good as they are calibrated to sit about halfway 90 degrees normally and my stat opens at about 80-85 on the gauge but I am also only getting the fan kicking in at 110! Hopefully picking up the part tomorrow...

I think Trimsport do them and maybe the Awesome GTi store... you see them alot at shows...

Plus if you get lowering springs then you should be using the shorter dampers...

Cheers Gareth, just couldn't find that page, neith could my dealer! -
Yes, alot of tyre pressure loss is due to dirt and corrosion of the alloy not allowing the tyre to seal correctly but UltraSeal is amazing stuff, My dad has used it in his BMW 1150GS since a nail cost him £100 for a new tyre and its fine, does not affect balance etc as long as you go for a spin just after putting it in so it spreads evenly. We first saw it on a stand at the bike show a couple of years ago and the buy just kept punctering the wheel, in the end all you could see were holes in the tyre but it was still inflated.

Kev, you nutter! Go to X-Spurt Tyres (not far from you) They'll Fit, Valve and balance all 4 for about £25 - maybe cheaper as there won't be a disposal charge.

Guys, after a bit of diagnosis (cheers Henny) I found my radiator thermoswitch to be faulty as its only coming on at 110 degrees... and its been like this since I had the car (so ignore all my previous moaning about high water temps while sitting in traffic and needing a bigger rad!) But, I think its the same part as 8v GTi's but GSF sell 4 different types and 2 for the 8v but they are convinced it should be a mk3 part... I didn't have the car with me to check so left it but I know they do sell the correct part! Went to VW round the corner, they also wern't sure and couldn't even find it on ETKA at all, I then had a look when I got back to work and couldn't find it either... Could someone look at there reciept and give me a part number so I can get it tomorrow... Cheers.
