  1. Great site! I'm sure we can all relate, especially with the fog light issue, all of which seem to be at my eye level.

    Brake lights

I pulled up at home the other day and a bloke told me my driver's side brake light was out, it was so i changed it. Got the boyfriend to check the new one was working which it was/is but now when i brake the driver side headlight comes on as well. Has anyone got any idea what i've done, taxis keep pulling out in front of me because they think i'm flashing them. Thanks, Kate
  4. Individually they are weak, together they are strong and defiant against the VAG dealer...........
  5. Manchester to Jersey (366 miles) and back to Manchester (another 366 miles) must like the rain.
  6. Burgundy k reg G60 with non-standard alloys parked outside a really old looking pub in Almondbury on sunday, quarter to six-ish.
  7. What would you do with it though? Would you drive it?
  8. I've got 16's but i'll be going back to 15's when it gets lowered, eventually. I also found it was harder to get the tyres i wanted because a few companies only semmed to do 15 and 17 inches.
  9. Mk2 golf, mk3 golf and then a corrado.... a natural progression and i got sick of driving the same car as millions of other people ... and they look cool, especially the reflection in the back of shiny black cars coming up to traffic lights! really must stop doing that
  10. Cheers fellas, i'll take a trip to trafford park after work tomorrow and order the necessary.
  11. So its not just me who has to do that, be interesting to find out what it is
  12. Hello all, i was driving to work very early this morning and hit a rabbit or hare. I couldn't avoid it despite braking hard but it was national speed limit + un-lit road + corrado lights = not a good outlook. The car is driving fine but when the sun came up there was lots of plastic not where it was before or not there at all. I took a picture after i managed to secure whats left with cable ties and now i need to know what the bits i need are called so i can get them from GSF or euro car parts. Many thanks in advance.
  13. Was living in Manchester at the time and a garage close to me was cheaper but as it turns out, not all that good. When i'm in a position to get a full respray i will be going back to Impact. PS their Mk5 is good but their T5? is better
  14. Impact in Brighouse looked good when i went for a quote, had to use a more local garage in the end though.

    Good/Bad

It defies gravity, another one of its skills. A set of FK Highsports will sort that this summer!

    Good/Bad

Got similar ones on my car, i would prefer all red though. Mine seemed to take a lot of adjusting and i still don't think they look right but they are better than the originals.
  17. While we are on the subject, does anyone know whether the headlight surrounds on the later models will fit the earlier headlights? I had to get a new headlight quick for my MOT last month and ended up with one off an earlier model and it looks slightly narrower, although the light itself looks the same size. I don't really want to take it apart if its not going to fit. Thanks PS Will be colour-coding after seeing some of those pictures.
  18. You really couldn't write stuff like this... I've had a bad day, busy at work, had to go shopping in Manchester after work, fell down some stairs and i burnt my fingers on the oven, but the best bit... Setting off home after shopping i realised my car has clocked up 66,651 miles in its lifetime and before i get home i will pass 66,666, superstition sets in. As if the devils phone number isn't enough, i will reach it while i am driving along Woodhead Road (A635?), known for its widow-making abilities. 66,666 approaches without a hitch but at exactly 66,667 miles the wipers stop dead with a thud at the base of the windscreen and are still not working, in fact they are firmly wedged in place refusing to budge. I think my car is cursed, i just thought i'd share it with you all.

  20. Right, i just ran over to where i abandoned it and theres no more water coming out, the dipstick is clean, the oil filler cap is clean and the radiator cap is clean, yay! So that looks like good news, PS forgot to mention is a late 16v 9a. Thanks for all the help by the way
  21. Fan has been coming on but only after the temperature has gone sky high, today it didn't come on at all just before it spat its dummy out.
  22. Sorry to bring this subject up again bu i've used the search but i'm still not exactly sure whats wrong. The water temperature has been slightly high but stable for a few weeks and the fan has always come on at about 110. Today though, it got to 110 (in heavy, going no-place traffic) and stayed there for ages, luckily i found clear road and that seemed to cool it down. I then hit more traffic and the temperature kept rising past 110 and the coolant light came on, i pulled over as soon as i could and was greeted by steam coming from the bonnet (passenger side) and water coming from somewhere. There was also a gurgling, burbling sound coming from somewhere and the coolant level had risen about an inch above the maximum mark, if definately was not over-filled before. The real p1$$er is that i've had a new radiater and water pump in the last couple of months, i was hoping all my cooling nightmares were over. Please could someone suggest whats going on so i can arm myself with knowlege (seemingly) when i go to get it fixed, so i don't get ripped off. Thanks in advance, Kate
  23. Looks like biro, if he doesn't like it, at least he doesn't have to look at it 24/7
