  1. I nearly bought an overpriced and accident damaged one because i'm quite impulsive, glad i didn't because the next one i saw was mine.
  2. I think they are just 2.0l but i've heard they're not the best option, i'm sur someone will back me up.....
  3. You could spend a lot on a tidy 2.0l or very little on a shoddy example if you don't need to rely on it and don't mind doing some work. Generally you tend to get what you pay for. Mpg on the 2.0l is'nt bad really, i've had 42mpg on the motorway but i don't really pay much attention as i'm sure you won't at first after having a 1.4 Polo, i know i had a 1.4 mk3 golf before i got my corrado. As for parts and general worries, you can't fault the forum i just wish i'd found it sooner, could have saved me £££££'s, they see a girl in a corrado pull up and its the equivalent of a lottery win.
  4. I've had mine for exactly a year now and in that time i've spent lots on it, too much really but even after i've worked a 12 hour nightshift i still take the long way. I don't think a new 'off the peg' type of car would give me that. I plan to keep it for many years just letting it evolve...... 1.8T maybe!
  5. Very clean green, maybe VR? in Denton this afternoon, i was a few cars behind you
  6. Very clean & shiny green M plate on the A55 coming back from all types
  7. This sounds like whats happening on my car. When its cold, the gear change is hard work, like really hard work and reverse can take a couple of attempts. The clutch also feels like its just dangling for about half the travel but gets better after a while as does the gear change. The cars only done 59k but should i change the gearbox oil anyway? Any help would be gratefully recieved, the favourite part of the day (the drive home from work!) is not as much fun as it should be. Thanks
  8. Kinda what i'm aiming for without the forth bridge wheels (once you've cleaned the last one, you have to start all over again)...... its taking longer than i want though
  9. Leave the car to fester, go to worthersee and come back full of inspiration. We all get pi$$ed off, some b'stard keyed mine the other day just after i had a partial respray but when i saw someone walk into a petrol pump because they were staring at the car, it makes it all worth while.
  10. 42.5 on the motorway (mfa) but early mornings and late nights across the moors mean that won't happen every day
  11. You need to tell a few white lies to get cheap insurance, i used to say i was a clerk and not a student - seems to make them happier I still pay £1285 + the 8% credit charge for paying in installments and thats for a 2.0l 16v, 3 years no claims no points, VR6? no chance soon!
  12. Good VW breakers on Corbett Street, opposite the giant Asda in Manchester, near Man City's stadium. I think its called GT autospares but i'm not sure... anyway the guy is some sort of VW wizard and its not far from lodgesports
  13. V5 Bora? A few subtle mods is all it takes
  14. I'd personally go for a Lupo, a diesel Lupo but they have a habbit of making men look like an actionman doll in a rollerskate... GTi's are still rare and pricey too.
  15. Maybe the middle lanes on the motorways might get freed up...... i wish
  16. Had new inpro lights for months but have only just got round to fitting them
  17. Door handles broke again so i suppose its called b'stard
  18. 1993 K 2.0L 16V 58k (rebuild at 53k after cambelt shredded) Moonlight blue 16" BBS RX alloys Naff tailpipe extension which is refusing to budge, will be replaced with a full Milltek SS system Not been lowered but will be using FK Highsports Colour coded door handles and mirrors, rubbing strips removed and FK badgeless grille I've been unlucky.... an engine rebuild and paint job (due to vandalism) have taken money which could have been spent on a decent exhaust, ICE and suspension. But not to worry it'll just have to wait for a while...
  19. If they're like the ATP Razzes i was going to get then i think they will look great!
  20. Now theres somebody on the same wavelength
  21. Got mine back from the paint shop this afternoon - all shiny with plastic rubbing strips removed, freshly painted handles and mirrors and took in the smiles and second glances. Its the only car i've ever driven whichmakes me look for the long way round!
  22. I'm a female corrado owner and it is hard work sometimes.... especially when i'm after parts and stuff for the car and i get patronised by most (not all) men who think i know nowt. I tend to nod and let them ramble on and see how much they are trying to rip me off.
  23. Good point, i might draw a schematic diagram of me in the car and draw an arrow pointing to my a$$ bone!
  24. Hello, i'm currently doing a 'critique of a typical modern vehicle' project for one of my modules at uni and a lot of calculations rely on knowing where the centre of gravity is. I've so far calculated it to be 1.53m from the rear axle but i don't know the height. I can work it out by weighing the mass on the front axle and jacking up the rear and calculating the change but i don't really have the time. So if anybody has a rough idea of this magical number could they please let me know..... Thanks
